Ten minute walk from town centre. They do a fine sunday roast. Looks great from the outside but inside you are fighting to get to the bar.

Must have caught this on a bad day. Very sour pint of Doombar. Shame, it could be a nice local.
I like this pub. It's not the cheapest but the beers are well kept and the food is excellent. Slightly out of town but worth the walk.
Had a very warm welcome at the olde kings head. Food very simple but tasty and extremely generous portions. Only had a Guinness, which was excellent. Would return if in the area.
Haven't been to 'ye olde kings head' for quite a while and been meaning to visit ever since I saw the 'Tapas' board outside. So when I suggested to the wife we call in again I thought it the responsible thing to do to check the reviews on 'beer in the evening'. I was surprised to see 'epsomaledrinker' having such a crusade against the pub (specially seeing it was more to do with a fellow drinker) and complaining about the pub, the people and also the food. Two and a half hours later I'm sitting in front of my computer having had the finest of meals with very good wine and very friendly people. All I can say to 'epsomaledrinker' is GET A GRIP and GROW UP!! Highly recommended

Nice friendly local, if a bit pricey. A few regulars visit with their dogs. They should be a bit wary of a tall man drinking San Miguel with a reputation with canidae animals especially vulpines from the Low Countries!
Great pub, we enjoy a share platter (spanish tapas) lovely food, nice drinks! Very much recommended! Parking is an issue though!
That's a shame because the StMiguell larger really is very good, and there'll be a new stuffed fox before Christmas.
I've boycotted this pub.
The StMiguell larger here is excellent. Great stuffed fox over the bar.
There are 2 far better pubs round the corner, the Barley Mow and the Railway Guard. Beer is at least 15 pence a pint cheaper they stay open later and the less moronic elements drink in there, i.e. 'decent people'.
This pub allows evil scum bags to drink there. Evil people who love killing foxes. Like Dave the scumbag who loves shooting foxes. I will never drink in this shitting pub again!!!
It sickens me that they allow fox hunting scumbags like Dave who drinks St. Miguell ( Tosser big time, to drink there )
THE most expensive beer in Epsom bar NONE!
Have you ever eaten here? How disgusting is the food, have you ever eaten here. gees! revolting!!!! Sucks!
This pub sells the most expensive beer in Epsom bar none! They also allow fox hunting scumbags to drink there, i.e. Dave who drinks St. Miguell larger goes on fox shooting trips to Holland. Please Boycott this pub . I think if I drank there again I would throw up!!!
Walked up from the awful Kings Arms in East Street and found this gem, just out of the town centre which is part of its appeal. Gorgeous outside and friendly welcome from the barmaid. The interior for the most part is simply quality, the way an English pub should look, Monday night pub quiz and you can't beat the traditional meat raffle, love it. The major downside which is said with a great " SIGH " is the state of the toilets, many a great venue are let down by this and i am sorry to report no exception. Such a shame ....... Restaurant furniture !? err did Stevie Wonder chose that ? not in keeping with the place, we will be back though and will be eating, watch this space .... We will definately reccommend and will be back soon, will the food live up to the expectaions .... Please don't let me down

For one who has recently lost a Partner, this is a nice place to visit. I or we always apreciated 'good Pubs' with Atmosphere, you tick all the boxes, I can sit in a Corner look, listen & appreciate all that is still great about a Traditional Local, maybe one Day I'll involve
Not a pub as often used as others in Epsom but it's always reliable for some very well kept mainstream beers (Youngs, Fullers, Harveys etc) and a genial, cosy feel about the place. Not an absolute favourite but certainly not bad either.
I love this place, but it seems more of a cosy winter pub to me, so I've been neglecting it since the weather's been good. It's a proper no-frills old pub, but with a nice respectable feel... decent ales and roast dinners, rather than Stella and ugly dogs!
Comment on review below - Obviously devine intervention from across the road.
Definitely a "locals" pub.god selction of ales ,but a little pricey at 3.20 a pint for Harveys.
Happened by on a Sunday lunch session.......fine pint of Harvey's served by friendly staff..lunched on cheese chunks, olives and indian mix from the the bar! Fingers crossed that little pubs like this survive the PubCo's dead hand. .....BQ 8
Made a big mistake by leaving for the nearby Barley Mow

Popped in about 2.30 yesterday (Sat). Beers on were Ordinary, Pride and Black Sheep Bitter. Pride was quite accepabe.
Attractive low ceilinged pub. All the tables I saw had cutlery on them, the ones in the area to the left were properly laid out. Probably more comfotable to go around to the right or sit at the bar if you are just having a drink. Real fire, racing photos and pictures on the walls. Generally speaking there was an older clientele but that might be down to the time of day. Certainly one of Epsom's better pubs.
Visited this pub at 1pm yesterday. It's a good sign if you walk into a pub and there are unaccompanied respectable looking middle aged women present. This was the case here. This pub was recommended to me by the ex licensee of the Princess Royal in Croydon which in its heyday was an absolutely brilliant boozer thanks to his expertise and discernment. Now the PR is owned by Punch Taverns, enough said!
This place may not quite be in the same class as the PR in its pomp but it is very good. Friendly welcome, two roaring fires and well kept London Pride. The only slight down side was the Cumberland sausage in our sandwiches was barely warm bearing in mind there were few people eating. However, I will definitely return.
I'm not a regular pub goer but when I do I make this top of my list. You miss all the kids in town and people are always friendly in here, always good debates going on in a freindly way. Great local
chav-free environment worth the walk out of the town centre - a booza for the over 50's and retirement set, but also a nice spot for a quiet beer with the girlfriend
the manager is a legend, always good for a laugh, FANTASTICally well kept beer - you'd be hard pressed to find a nicer lager or Guinness, and the ales are A1 Good honest home-cooked food - nice spot for a Sunday roast.
The tables out front are a bit dicey for sitting outside, but it's the best place for smokers IMHO ;o)
worth a regular visit...
bustling little pub with well kept ales and friendly staf. unspoilt unlike the rising sun nearby. Give it a try.
Nice atmosphere and very attentive staff. Really good food. Well worth a visit if you are looking for a quiet evening and a decent menu.
Good traditional local pub if you're looking for a quiet drink. Decent beer and very reasonably priced food menu. Dogs welcome.
This is a pub worth visiting. Situated about 1/4 mile from Epsom town centre so no lager louts. Friendly, helpful bar staff. Good choice of real ales- Youngs, Fullers, Black Sheep. Food menu looks good too.
good beers, nice feel-a proper pub away from the hoardes
Fantastic little pub, extremely friendly staff and still feels like a pub unlike most other places which are now restaurants. Nice little touches like food put out on the bars on Friday evenings and Sunday lunchtimes. Keep up the good work - Lisa & Austen

A pub that knows exactly what it is - a quiet backstreet locals pub that does good quality home made food - and doesn't try to be anything more. Beer is always well kept. Given that there's a specials board as well as menu with usual pub grub, a little odd that there's no veggie food apparent - until you ask at the bar when the chef will then offer a choice of dishes made to order.
nice little bub.good food, ales and feel.good for afternoons away from it all.

Very small back-street local.
A pub that knows it's place. It's never going to become a chain pub, so sticks to the things it knows best, serving the hardcore of locals decent beer and honest food.
It's never going to win a style award, and the smell of fried food is a little overpowering, but it's pleasant enough if old-fashioned pubs are your bag.
full of grumpy old men. beer overpriced, you age 30 years when you step in the place.
Food is great. 2 good beers on: London Pride & Green King IPA. Top marks!
