Your average Hall & Woodhouse pub/restaurant with decent food and a decent pint. Garden is dog-friendly. Worth a visit.

Purpose built pub, built in the last 10 or 15 years or so but nicely done ,looks a lot older.Set out more as a restaurant than a pub , Hall and Woodhouse beers available were Badger best, Tanglefoot and Firkin Fox . I had the fox which was served in a branded Firkin Fox glass. I have to say I was pleasantly suprised by the quality of the beer.As a pub I have in the past only rated it 5/10 but taking beer quality into account i'm upping it to 6.Still not a place I would travel to for a drink ,but if your local its right next to morrisons supermarket so it might have it's use's when you have to go shopping.

A H&W Pub, but also now my local. Beer is well kept and although not cheap it's not extortionate. Spirits are expensive.
Food is also good with a wide choice - for the most part cooked fresh. Learn what to avoid! The service can lack a little when it's busy but I've found the staff to be friendly and pleasant and keen to rectify any issues that might occur.

Good to have a H & W Pub in the area, serves some good stuff on tap and the food isn't bad. good seating outside for a nice cold beer in the british sunshine

Most improved pub. I didnt go there anymore because they charged too much money for avarage food and the staff where always horrible. Now it's got a new landlord, lowered prices (5.99 / meal), installed kids play things in the back garden and the (mostly new staff) are really nice. And if you life locally you may even be lucky and get a free bottle of wine with vouchers that are in the local newspaper. Going back now quite often.

Three Hall & Woodhouse beers on offer which are usually in decent condition. I think the staff were on their summer holidays. One barmaid and one waitress on a Wednesday lunchtime made service rather slow. It might have helped if the waitress was capable of carrying more than one meal at a time. One meal out and no empty plates on the return journey is not an efficient use of time. Nearly 10 for a cheese and bacon burger is too expensive in my opinion. Okay for a business lunch but there is room for improvement.

souless estate/chain pub, beer is not too bad though!

The last comment must have gone to a different pub! When I went this week the staff were really good! I have been to this pub a few times and it never dissapoints, I noticed that there is a new menu as well with some interesting dishes on it (the confit duck leg was excellent). Would definately reccommend

Although this pub/"restaurant" advertises itself as family friendly, it is anything but.
The staff are, without exception, rude and unfriendly. The prices are high and the service is non-existent.
The bar staff are slow at best. We will not be returning. They think they have a captive audience being within walking distance of so many houses and this is why they have any business at all, although more and more people seem to be voting with their feet and even on sunny afternoons the garden is virtually empty.
The bar staff insist on having both external doors to the garden open at all times so children can run into the pub, straight through and out onto the road. If you ask nicely if one of the doors can be shut they say yes, only to open it again 5 minutes later.

This is a great Pub, it's a relaxed place to enjoy a meal, if your looking for a pub lunch this is the place.

Great staff, nice food but a bit pricey. Could do with a "bar" area as it can be difficult to find somewhere to stand without being in the way when it gets so busy with people eating that you can't get a table. Overall a nice pub tho!
Oh and they've just started doing a pub quiz on a Tuesday night.

Despite its slightly artificial "Olde Worldeliness", this is a well run pub with excellent food and friendly, helpful staff. We had our office Christmas "do" there and it was the best organised group meal I've ever been to, and the best quality food too - cooked fresh and served hot by some of the most patient and accomodating staff I have ever encountered in a pub.
I can live with plastic beams and IT chat for that!

Nice pub: yes its trying to look older than it is, but that's not necessarily a bad thing considering its only a few years old. Its lacking a bit in atmosphere but hopefully that will develop in time.
Good selection of drinks, very nice food and friendly staff, can see myself paying a few more visits there :-)

I agree with Adrian - family friendly restaurant that serves good beer too. Saves aggro from the missus that we can all go out together. Signs of it developing into a real local are slowly emerging. Rating is for quality of beer and food, coupled with convienience if you live there. otherwise probably only worth visiting if you have small children and want more than a Harvester.

Pathetic attempt by the developers to inject some 'village' atmosphere into the housing estate they called Elvetham Heath. The only resemblance to a country pub is it's like drinking in a barn. For those who think a Harvester is a pub.

Always serves me well as a drinking hole or local place to eat. Atmosphere a little impersonal but with a group of friends it's fine; does help being only 200 paces from my front door. Handy place to talk IT and speculate on property prices but never seem to see Dan in there any more.....

Opened last year- not bad, good alternative range of real ale... but... just tries too hard to look old whilst smelling of new paint & wood at the same time. Bereft of character. Clientelle are the type of people who talk about IT in their lunch hours, and the spiralling value of their Elvetham Heath houses. Not my crowd, I'm afraid.

This is not so much a pub as a resturant that happens to serve beer. this is a modern pub built to look old. Not a bad job good badger, tanglefoot and fursty ferret. Struggles on atmosphere.
