White Horse, Chorleywoodback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
was a good pub but now its been taken over by a couple of businessman types so wont be going there again. I preferred it as it was, with papers, log fire, Dogs welcome, Not a fancy wannabe gastropub like the Gate across the road.

Greene King pub (damn). Usual IPA and OSH slops along with a proper guest ale, Gem, from Bath Ales. Oh, and Stallions Brew, from the White Horse brewery. Come off it Greedy King, you don't fool me. It
is 99% IPA brewed by yourselves and changed its name. You should have named it Stallions P*$$. The food looked good but was tasteless.

I Searched online for dog friendly pubs and this one came up as an option. I rang to book a table for Sunday lunch (with a dog) and the service on the phone was very good.
When we arrived the pub was full (no drinkers, just diners) and we ordered roast dinners (9.95 each) and they were lovely (but not hot enough!). Great quality food, cooked well and plenty of it. My hubby said the real ale was very good and my dog appreciated the toys and water provided. A friendly member of staff also came over with doggie treats. In fact all the staff were friendly.
The toilets were very cold though and in need of some minor repairs but were clean and well stocked. There was a big roaring fire and every table was either full or reserved.
Definitely worth the visit and we'll be back.

Being part disabled I don't visit pubs that often. However, I called here recently for something to eat and waas allowed to bring my two black labs (and my wife!) in with me.
I'm not a beer drinker, whisky is my tipple, so cannot comment on the beers though there was a large variety available. The food was super and moderately priced, the atmosphere was second to none - due to a well trained team led by a pleasant professional lady called Karen. Though I don't live in the area, I will certainly call again en passant and would commend the White Horse to anybody. This is what an English pub should be like.

Had made the big mistake to go to the Land of Liberty in Heronsgate where the staff are so rude, i was recommended to go to the white horse for something to eat, lovely place very friendly and i would definatley go there again.

We were taken here recently by our daughter to watch a live band.Good well served beer, food was also above average with generous portions too. Really enjoyed the band and the sound level wasn't a problem. Friendly staff, we'll be back!

this is a good all round pub, decent grub, nice court yard garden,Karen the land lady is very professional and friendly. Its just a pity thst recently i paid 3.25 for a pint of strowbow, thats outrageous even for posh chorleywood, dont know if that the brewery or what.

Nice enough pub spoiled, for me, by offering only greedy kings usual suspects; Ipa, Abbot, OSH. Entrance splits, via a low door frame, to a surprisingly modern look room on the right with black leather furniture, but to the left a much better large beamed bar with wood burning inglenook providing immediate character & warmth. Plenty of tables & seating, pass by the fishtank to an outdoor patio area with heat burners. Liked the bar, not the beer.

Seemed very friendly even if you're not a local (and I'm not).
When I visited the live music was just setting up. They must've fused the place half a dozen times in about 5 minutes! It was hilarious! I didn't stay to see how good they were as I had to get home. Maybe next time.
If I'm in the area again this place is worth investigating further. Quite a few in for a Bank Holiday so they must be popular in the area. A nice place.

seemed like a friendly local pub - the sort where they dont gawp when strangers walk in! Impressive frontage on the barmaid!
