Great pub. Need say no more...
...but i will.
Always friendly staff, always a good beer, good atmosphere with friendly locals, lovely big well kept garden - see pic, fairly reasonable prices, (find me a cheap pub these days!!) newly re-surfaced car park, I am told that there is a great variety on the menu but I wouldn't know as I haven't got any further than the burgers!!!!,
All in all a great place to go.

And no, I am not the landlord.

Popped into the Shelley on four different occasions now while staying with friends locally. Have been happy with service and facilities each time, all drinks served well and had a burger on one visit which was great. Wish our local was like this one.

You may find that 'blanket bombing' results in much less than the desired effect.

In 20 years I have seen this pub grow and improve in so many ways. From the excellent 'traditional' pub food, the very friendly family atmosphere, good choices of beers, great live bands, to the large and comfortable beer garden (best in Sussex in my opinion). This pub has everything. The annual charity fun days have raised tens of thousands of pounds and are a real event in the pub's calendar, with all the staff and many regulars working tirelessly to make it a success. I live much closer to other pubs, but the Shelley Arms remains my number 1 choice.

WOW! Landlord very busy at his computer this morning. How do you find the time to run a pub?

A really nice pub to go to with friends for a drink and a game of pool(you can get all the way round the table with a cue!),friendly staff with a sense of humour. They provide nice well priced food ,a decent sized car park so you dont need park on the road and a big pub garden with a play area for the kids to suite families. Been going there for over 25yrs and will happily continue to do so.

New to the area so i gave the Shelley Arms the benefit of the doubt. It is exactly what i require for a local pub - Good lagers, great food (especially the burgers!) and a lovely big beer garden with a childrens play frame which is great for when we come in at weekends.
I feel welcomed when i come in , friendly regulars and the management seem to know what they are doing. Thumbs up!

I've been going to this Pub for 28 years now & it's never been better than it is now. The beer is served perfectly & the food is tasty & with good portion sizes, you cant go wrong. The Staff are cheerful & helpful and surroundings are clean & well managed. In the winter there is a welcoming log fire & in the summer a fantastic large garden to enjoy whatever tipple you prefer. The locals are all friendly & if you go in there alone, there is usually someone there to start a hearty conversation with. If you haven't been there recently I recommend a visit soon. If I was going to buy a pub... This would be it.....

I have lived in the village of Broadbridge Heath for 15 years now, so the only pub in the village has become my local. Licensee Richard Kent, manageress Lorraine Stewart and bar manager Andy Smith are always friendly and welcoming.

The pub is a popular place with tradesman who call in about five pm to whet their whistle. I find that you can get a carpenter, painter and decorator, builder, plumber, mechanic, vehicle body repairer and a man with a van whilst enjoying a pleasant pint.

Chef Shirley excels in the kitchen. Lots of homemade food and Monday to Thursday lunch times there is now a tempting two meals for the price of one offer. Good value, homemade food and good beer is a winning combination.

Still doing a choice of 3 roasts on a Sunday.

Nice pub visited for the first time on Saturday afternoon had an excellent pint of Hogs Back Ale and the landlord came over and moved the TV round so i could see it better. Didnt see the menu or what the food looked like but shall be making another visit soon to see!

This has been refitted recently and is worth a punt if you are in the area. Friendly bar staff and nice interior. V G in summer with events in the sizeable beer garden. Also the only pub for miles so if that doesn't encourage you, I don't know what will.

HAVING LIVED OPPOSITE THIS PUB FOR THE FIRST SIXTEEN YEARS OF MY LIFE, I NEVER ACTUALLY ENTERED IT UNTIL I HAD LEFT HOME, COCKED UP MY CAREER IN THE NAVY AND COME HOME IN DISGRACE (WITH AN HONOURABLE DISCHARGE I HASTEN TO ADD-IT WASN'T THAT DISGRACEFUL). THEN IT WAS A BIT GLOOMY AND AS MY LIFE WAS PRETTY MUCH ONE ALCOHOLIC BLUR AFTER ANOTHER I DIDN'T TAKE MUCH NOTICE OF THE DECOR, CHOICE OF BEERS ETC ETC... I FINALLY LEFT THE CONFINES OF SLEEPY OLD B.B.H. AND DID MY "STREETS PAVED WITH GOLD" BIT UP IN THE SMOKE WHERE UNSURPRISINGLY I WORKED FOR 17 YEARS IN "THE PUB TRADE"-AS YOU DO.IT GOT TO THE STAGE WHERE I COULDN'T BE ARSED WITH PISSED UP 14 YEAR OLDS PICKING FIGHTS AFTER ONE TOO MANY W.K.D'S SO I GOT ALL SERIOUS WITH MY LIFE, MET A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN, STOPPED OVER DRINKING AND MOVED "UP NORTH". RIGHT YOUR ALL PRETTY BORED WITH THE LIFE STORY BUT THE LONG AND THE SHORT OFF IT IS THIS. ME AND THE MISSUS CAME BACK TO B.B.H. FOR THE FIRST TIME IN NEARLY 23 YEARS, SIX WEEKS AGO. THE PUB WAS ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL-NOT THE HOVEL IT WAS 20 ODD YEARS AGO. SERVICE WAS QUICK, CHEERFUL, AND THE LANDLADY WAS INTERESTED TO HERE MY TALE (AS YOU PROBABLY AREN'T) THE BEER WAS CRISPY COLD (IT WAS 26C OUTSIDE) AND THE FOOD WHEN WE ORDERED IT WAS MAGNIFICENT. WHAT A CHANGE-I LOVE IT. IT'S ONLY A SHAME THAT I LIVE NEARLY 300 MILES AWAY FROM IT NOW OR ELSE I'D DEFINITELY RE-MAKE IT MY LOCAL AGAIN. PAY IT A VISIT, I URGE YOU, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED-ESPECIALLY THE BEER GARDEN IN SUMMER.
