Well, driving past at least, it looks to me as in this place has been closed and made into a private house. It has been a LONG while since it was open and I suspect it will never open again.

The Pembroke Arms is under new private ownership.
The pub is currently undergoing total refurbishment. It will reopen as a village pub, serving the good people of the village with local ales and good food.
Let’s preserve our great British heritage. The English pub.
Watch this space for further developments.

Still closed and boarded up - shame as a lovely looking pub in a good position.

Closed and boarded up when we passed it on Monday 17th September 2012. Couldn't see any 'for sale' signs.

We arrived at this lovely village pub near to lunchtime closing time but nothing was too much trouble for the Landlord and staff. The food was excellent and service likewise. Definitely worth a visit, I personally shall return to sample more dishes on the menu and of course the fine ales.
PS. Don't be put off by some of the earlier negative reviews which apparently refer to a previous Landlord. Tony the current Landlord and his wife are very warm and welcoming.

Very Impressed we went whilst passing through the village on a Thursday Night which seemed to be their Theme night. This particular Thursday was Steak night and wow what a steak, choice of two courses for 17ish of which i had a stilton bacon chickory salad then a steak to die for and the deserts were amazing. We went back the following week and it was Fish Night, well true to form it was utterly brilliant and no sight of chavy staff as alluded to in another review. As pub grub goes this place is great and the everyday menu looked enticing now on our regular visit list!

Thought this would be a trditional pub until I walked through the door - it's a restaurant in all but name, although they have some details of regiments and local items of interest on the wall. However, there were two Brakspeare beers on the pumps, the bitter I had was very good. The chicken, sweetcorn and asparagus soup was home made and one of the best I've ever had.

Aaargh. First went in here a couple of years ago and had a fairly decent meal and pint. I'd heard it had recently changed hands and went in to see for myself during a "scenic route" drive from Salisbury back to Bournemouth. Everyone including the staff - or was she the landlady? - looked like chavs, and the beer was rubbish. I won't go in again.

Unfortunately I haven't good opinion about curent owner (Tania). She is too bossy and cunning. I was working in Pembroke Arms Hotel 4 years ago when Dave King was the owner - he was really good mate and first of all - the best chef I've ever known. He was serving delicious Lasagne and Mousake. I curious if he has another restaurant at the moment because I'd like one day try one more time his lasagne. Greetings for local customers of Permbroke Arms Hotel. PAUL from Poland

Brilliant pub,. Just stopped on the way through to Salisbury and felt at home. You get a great welcome from the staff and locals. No stares as someone new walk into the pub you just get a hello how are you.
Food way good and very reasonably priced.
The new owners have done wonders by the looks of things and definately worth a stop if you are on the A30.
Will deffinately go again.

Quite possably one of the worst pubs i have ever been in. The staff we found were rude and unpresentable. The food was below standards. I would nt recommend this pub to anyone!!! ( Go 5 mins up the road to Barford this pub on the other hand was outstanding)

Finally, a pub that has got the food/drink balance right. Pub has two bars, one of which is no smoking and mainly an eating area. The other bar is a smoking area and mainly for drinkers although you can eat in there if you're not bothered by smoke. Excellent ales (Ringwood, Wadworths, friendly staff and locals, quiz machine, music played at an unobtrusive volume, clean toilets, a beer garden and a World War One museum. Oh and they do accommodation as well. Opens 1100-1500, 1800-2300 Mon-Sat and 1200-2230 Sun when they also have a carvery. Really enjoyed my brief stop here, just a shame that I couldn't have stayed for a few more pints. Top place.
