Seven years since my last visit. A great pub: the Okells IPA was in fine form. Well worth a visit and once again 10/10.

From the outside the most inviting pub in Laxey with good outside seating however inside it was a tad disappointing with warm beer and daytime TV playing rather loudly. May just have caught it at a bad time though.

Just had time for a couple of beers whilst waiting for the tram. It was a quiet, sunny, Sunday and not many in the bar. Okells IPA slid down a treat in the Beer Garden. Was last on the Island 15 years ago and enjoyed re-visiting my old favourites, of which the Mines was one! Well worth missing a tram or two to enjoy this pub ... just don't miss the last tram!

Sheltered here for a Sunday lunchtime meal and pint while it chucked it down outside. Went with the kids and although they are not allowed in the bar area there is a side lounge which we were directed to, and also a covered outside seating area where you can watch the trams. It's right by the tram stop so if you are doing Laxey Wheel or Snaefell railway or just riding the trams, it's an ideal stop off. Food was good, reasonably priced and served quickly.

This was one of those places where I could easily have passed hours, days....the beer was very good and the sight and sound of the trams passing in the day time transported me back to a more pleasant, pre-Thatcher/Murdoch time! Should be in the GBG rather than some of the Douglas pubs!!

Pretty large, multi-roomed pub next to the tram station. Outside seating area. Good value basic pub food. 4 Okells beers on offer from 2.60 including the IPA.

This pub had a great location alongside the tramlines and not far from the Laxey Wheel. The bar itself is made out of an old tram carriage. The locals looked at us a bit oddly. But I felt reasonably comfortable here, and this was probably the best pub we visited on the island. 4 real ales were available - Okell's Bitter, Mild and Red, alongside Saltaire Blonde.

Great location, friendly welcome and tip-top ales. Sit in the sun-trap beer garden and watch the trams pass by.....
|
Fine pub to spend hours watching the trams on a hot day. Good food and a reasonable selection of ales.
|
A pleasant pub, great to sit outside in the large beer garden overlooking the electric railways (both Douglas to Ramsey and Snafell Mountain).
Well kept ales and reasonable food, although they didn't know what was in their own pie! (The steak and ale pie turned up with onions and mushrooms in, although when I asked before ordering was assured no onions were in it!)

Smashing boozer with 4 fine ales on offer.
Great lunchtime fayre also.
My only grouse is - why have the telly on all day when no-one is watching it and the sound is down low anyway??

Did the same as Paradise Alley! Top beer and check out the nachos.

Dived in here after a trip to Snarfell Summit. Very good Okells beer and excellent sandwiches. Good enough to hang around for another pint and take a later train.

T 861 484 The best pub in Laxey - just by the MER railway station. Super food to be had at payable prices.
They can afford to produce a sticker "Grotty food, rude landlord, lousy beer. Don't ring 01624/861484" as exactly the opposite is true.
