Another decent pint of Okells in a pub overlooking the bay. Another (as with many IoM pubs) rough and ready establishment -though none the worse for it. it's quite an impressive looking building as you approach it but when inside the pub seems quite small and underwhelming.

Full range of Bushys beers plus guests in an excellent setting and with free papers, classic rock on the radio and a friendly barman providing samples of anything we fancied and a seaview I thought I'd found beer nirvana on my first visit. Sadly the next night it was full of yappy students watching an England game so we only stayed for one!

Found the staff very friendly and sorted me out a room at the Falcons Nest. Bushy's beer and a great interior. Staff said that there are plans to re-open part of upstairs as guesthouse.

I would normally rate a pub that serves 4 real ciders quite highly. But when I asked if they had any real cider, I was directed towards bottled Westons cider and the keg Stowford Press, which was recommended. Only after being served did I notice the blackboard at the side of the bar listing Westons Old Rosie, Traditional Scrumpy, 1st Quality & Country Perry. I enquired if any of these were on and of course they were! It's a shame that real cider & perry is not always promoted or recognised by some staff. Being owned by the Bushys brewer, it was to be expected that most of the beers were from his brewery - Bitter, Ruby Mild, Shuttleworth Snap IPA, Old Bushy Tail, Castletown & Silverd Ale. There was also one guest - Oakleaf Hole Hearted. I can thoroughly recommend the Ruby Mild that was my favourite beer I tried throughout the weekend. The pub itself enjoys a position at the side of the bay. There are tables at the front with nice views. But it was a bit too chilly to sit outside. Indoors, there are 2 rooms - 1 is a traditional bar split into 2 parts. The other was more of a dining area. I quite enjoyed my time here, despite not getting around to sample any of the 'secret' ciders.

Although the beer was very good, we didn't get a friendly vibe here; also, we thought it was a bit on the smelly side. Shame - we were looking forward to it.

Large pub on the beach. 7 or 8 ales from Bushy's and guests from 2.30.
Quite quiet on both evenings when we visited which might explain why (on both occasions) the first couple of pints had to be changed - on the second day very reluctantly after we were given all the usual excuses (looks all right to me, no one else has complained etc) by the barman who hardly looked old enough to be serving! As a result we didn't return on our third night in Port Erin.

Just been across to the IOM for a few days, staying in the Port Erin area. Great pub, great beer, great food (especially the Queenies). Cannot praise this place high enough.
|
Called in a few times while staying in Port Erin and enjoyed both the food and the real ales. Good range of their Bushy Ales and managed to get a couple of new ones for me, the Oyster Stout and Weiss Bier. Friendly staff and a good atmosphere among the drinkers and diners. Spoke to a lady in Douglas who said they have bands performing on a stage put on the beach in front of the pub in summer. Fantastic place.

Best pub on the Island for me. Great pint of Old Bushy Tail. Great barmaid who delivered the pint to my table with a smile. Great location overlooking the Bay and the sun was shinning. What more could one want ?

Friendly welcome and great Bushy's ales - including the Ruby Mild on my visit. A great pub in a delightfully peaceful location. Well worth a visit - just a few minutes from the railway station.
|
Exellent ale house with a good range of Busheys Ales. Old Bushy Tail was particularly good.

You should try our electric railway (1895) or steam railway matey. THEN you can talk of being stuck in the past. Actually, it is that that makes the IOM attractive and the people easy going. Just look at the state of "across" nowadays. No thanks to their style of life
Welcome to Mann anyhow

Easily the best place to go in the iom - which isnt that difficult to achieve though as almost every pub is stuck in the 1960's, with the exception of the few new wine bars and such that are beginning to spring up in Douglas as a result of a long overdue investment. Thankfully the locals are usually so pleasant that the dated features and bleakness of each venue becomes irrelevant.

Two good darts teams.

Pub of the year winner and it's no surprise. Great food and service. Always loads of staff on hand. Good value on the drinks front and a really friendly athmosphere. Live bands most Friday nights. Only problem with the place is the live music room is so small.

This is my "local" pub, but even if I didn't live in Port Erin, I'd make the effort to get there. This is simply THE best pub on the Island & Bushy's beers are absolut heaven. All this plus superb food and live music, especially during TT/MGP etc - what more could you want?

Yep, amazing place, CAMRA pub of year for this year (IOM obv.). Loads of different bitters, low prices, no front and when sat outside on a hot summer's day....brilliant

Regarded as the best restaurant on the island. Lots of different beers and wines but not snobby at all. Prices certainly in line
