This pub was advertised on the Surrey Camra site as it had an Easter beer festival. The pub has a new landlord since November 2015 and he is doing his best to prote good beers. The pub has a lovely beer garden in full sun...when there is any sun....and is a delightful spot. Perhaps Liam (from 1D) and Cheryl (Cole) will pop in soon as it is one of their locals. Alton's pride is the regular beer and two other pumps are constantly changing. Lovely pub and excellent beer.

Got a bit confused as this is actually called The Garibaldi (if a mod could change this in the listings please??); anyway, 4th pub on the crawl called for some food. A welcoming atmosphere and another very 'pubby' appearance as pubs should be! Fair range of beers and decent food, all round another pub I'd be happy to return to

Voted Pub of the Year and well deserved. Visited yesterday - quite busy for the time of day. Doom Bar was excellent followed by an excellent meal - good value and fantastic quality. Well done Debbie & staff!
Sorry, posting below was meant for the Fox, Bisley.
Looked closed last Saturday afternoon.
waggledance's review sums The Garibaldi up nicely. I would like to add that they're very welcoming to my dog too, albeit outside which is fair enough. A bowl of water is always forthcoming without me having to ask . . . which is nice.
The pub is very welcoming with friendly staff who served me promptly. Gentle background music was not overpowering so I could still have a conversation with friends. The food was good pub grub - 'you get what it says on the menu' (highly recommend the liver in beetroot gravy if it is on the specials board) - Nothing too fancy but very filling and excellent value for money. I'm not a real ale drinker but my husband is and he was impressed with the selection, especially for a small local pub.
Not the friendlist of pubs, with the landlord doing his best to the make the place as unwelcoming as possible. "You cannot sit there", "that table is reserved" (note you cannot reserve tables, but he keeps the best table for himself and his friends). However, there are plenty of seats at the back of the pub (where there is little atmosphere/nothing to look at).
The staff also seem disgruntled to be working there.
I live around 50 yards from the pub, but won't be going back there - I just want to relax in a pub, and at the The Garibaldi I am unable to relax.

This pub was called - The Garibaldi - and then became - The Knap - for a couple of years. In 2006, the pub was changed back to The Garibaldi, as can be seen in the picture, as pubs should never change their names, local landmarks and all the history.
Its called "The Garibaldi" Now. Very nice, really friendly barstaff & locals. Ive heard they have live music but ive never been in there when its on. Quiz sunday night, decent food. The landlady is a lovely women, real friendly person. They also sell tabacco & fags behind the bar which saves a trip to the nearest shop which is handy. Nice garden area, kept clean.
Now has a new name. an Italian name infact. Not quite the most welcoming crowd in the World. The special Rugby themed ale was fine.
Not very knowledgable bar staff - I asked if they sold Pinot blush and was advised no, so I ordered a white wine and then saw a drinks menu which I had a look at only to see - Pinot blush!! Music only seems to be on if someone has put money in the jukebox and the main focus seems to be the sports screen! The landlady looked liked she had been dragged through a hedge backwards and as we left we took our glasses to the bar and said goodbye and she could bearly tear herself away from the "locals" and the TV screen to even acknowledge us! Won't be going back!
good well kept beer and friendly service glad I popped in for a trip down memory lane will definately go back friendly old fashioned proper boozer
Nice pub friendly landlady, blonde bar-maid a tad dizzy likes to talk but not serve! Serves a decent pint would go back
Visited this place on the way home from work for a cheeky pint for the first time in yonks this week. Pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and appearance of the bar. Had a pint of Harviestoun Schallalion (probably wrong spelling...but try pronouncing it!) and it was in peak condition. There were couples and tradesmen alike enjoying drink and food. recommended.
Decided to concentrate on food instead of live music - details need updating.
Recently changed hands & name back to Garibali. Beer still OK, not much changed decor wise, but menu sadly no longer has the same choice, especially the Mexican choices which have gone. A shame, as this was the main reason I went. Staff friendly.
Now called the Garibaldi. Fairly good food. Seating is a bit awkward but access to the bar is very easy.
Seems to have gone seriously downhill since my last visit in August 2004.
What a pub, full of colourful characters and well rounded people. Theres a chap who says 'what a boy' a lot, and another one who comes in looking for fag butts - check that man out!
The foreign chap who talks to himself is a real delight.
On a lighter note, the beer is good, and the food is wonderful - worth a visit for the good mix of mexican cuisine and a traditional british menu. It may seem a little pricey, but worth the extra pennies.

The birds are great too. I have to beat them off with a shitty stick.
Everytime I have been in there the staff and punters have been really friendly. The beer is also good.
I was also amazed to find out that this pub is where the late sixties beat combo 'Blue Stratos' reformed. (Apparently they had a lot of top 10 hits in their day) I hear they have played a few times up there, and I saw them play once in the pub with many of their celebrity friends guesting on songs.
Check out their new album 'Splash it all over...AGAIN!' two tracks were recorded in the Knap.
Don't forget the quizzes on the 2nd and last Sunday of the month. They are free to enter, good fun, and the prizes are great.

Where has the wenday house gone?

I like this pub. Everyone looks afterme and there is always events. The bands are good and I like to watch the quiz on the Sunday that is the last of the month. Thank you please
Pub is fine but don't try the food. Menu looks good, but is guaranteed to disappoint or revolt when it finally turns up. Stick to crisps if you are desparate.
there is a very friendly atmosphere and there is alot to do
Great real ale and a good selection of lagers. The food is superb, offering mexican food and other cusine from around the world. All on top of a traditionl british menu.
I find the atmosphere very friendly, it seems everyone who drinks in there has a great sense of humour.
They regularly have live music and there are pub quizzes the 2nd and last Sunday of the month.
