Yep. Okay. Good ale selection, about 4 our 5, boy really loud music pumped throughout. Why? Beer better than the (locally situated) Northumberland Arms.

Was here on a pub crawl early Saturday evening. Pleasant enough and good range of beers. Didn't try the food. I seem to remember they had sofas and you had to go upstairs to use the loo, where there was another bar room.
lancalot - 16 Nov 2013 18:57
Staff very pleasant and friendly despite being very busy. Food not bad at all, yes very nicely presented not sure why people aren't happy about that as its a nice change to have top notch food
mrlexy - 31 Dec 2011 20:13
Good range of beers, well kept.
Very expensive so check nearest cash machine *

Well kept beers, well served.
Atmosphere that of a busy bar, not a local.
Useful in area *

Visited for the first time since the refurb a week ago. Good beer (as before), but very disappointed by the food. They've hiked the prices, and stuck the food on huge trendy plates, but it's really not that great.

Will be drinking here only.

SInce the referubishment and new bar staff this place has really gone down in my estimates.

We have a food there a few times since the change and there has always been a problem, undercooked, wrong orders, luke warm. Everytime the wait for food has been more than 30 minutes regardless of what time we get there. I should add here this is when ordering food in downstairs, not in the restaurant that was added to the 1st floor (The Orangery). The food when it does arrive is well presented and I think this could be the problem, to much time trying to give a Gordon Ramsey touch, when 80% of people just what pub food to soak up the alcohol, more or better kitchen staff needed if they do wish to go that way. Also should mention that the seating that has always been available outside the Pub, now needs to be reserved and if you sit there unannounced you will be told (not asked) to move. Finally on food expect to pay 10-15 for your meal. (excl drinks).

On the bar , yes they do have a good selection beers and all appears to be well kept. The barstaff though really do let this place down, yes it does get busy and it can be a stressful job, but its no excuse for rudeness and unproffesionalism. Be prepared to be snapped out should have any problems (3 inches beer head, guiness not allowed to stand before completing, dirty glasses, dirty tables, still waiting for food), any problems and your likey to be told "what do you want me to do about it!!". Should you press the issue, expect to hear "we arent serving you anymore!"

The location next to Warren Street Station and the decent beers make this place, the service regrettably undoes all that good work. I for one now take my business elsewhere (Mortimers, Smugglers etc).

Very nice food. Excellent burger. Wasn't too slow. Lots of lagers and ales available. Tribute, Wandle and Doom Bar on draft. Doom Bar was very well kept. Deserves a much higher rating than 5.6/10

Had a great night here last night - it was Quiz Night and I have never been before. The food was lovely although a bit slow coming ....

Entertainment was hilarious and we had a fun night. Book your table in advance as quiz night does get busy and we ended up standing for the first part.

This pub had a refurb in May and the decor and staff are lovely and attentive. However, eat there in an allocated 1 hour work lunch break and you can forget it. Food great but a group of us have given it a few chances now and had to get a refund. It takes forever to get your food and when you do you have 5 minutes to get it down.
Come on guys, get it sorted. Don't bother with the feedback tool on the website either as they simply cant be bothered to honour you with a response.
The welsh rarebit is a rip off - 1 slice of whats basically posh cheese on toast lets face it, for 4.50. Sorry but pardon me for expecting a couple of slices since it's on the sandwich menu. Oh and 1 extra for a piddly bowl of leaves.
Fine for a drink but don't bother eating there in your lunch break as it's far too stressful and hurried.
Although it was cheap and cheerful before the refurb, the service was much better.

The place has recently been done up, but the bartender was so unbelievably rude!
Spoilt our evening.
a11msp - 3 Nov 2010 00:36
Been done up since my last visit many years ago.

Welcoming barmaid made you feel at home. Went for the Peroni which was fine apart from the 4/pint price which I thought was on the expensive side.

WIll return when I have a chance, to sample the other wares.

This pub was recommended to me pre refurb, but Saturday was my first opportunity to visit and I was quite impressed.

The pub frontage looks different now with an awning covering three outside tables with comfortable seating to watch the world go by. Internally the pub is very nicely decorated in a modern style. The toilets are upstairs after quite a climb up two long flights of stairs. There is a very plesant looking lounge at the top of the first flight.

There is a very tasty looking menu: extensive but, alas, also expensive. The food was not tried but looked very tempting.

The real pull of this pub is the extensive range of beers avaliable. On handpump were UBU Purity, St Austell Tribute, Daleside Summer Delight and Sambrook Wandle. The last two were tried and found to be in good condition. The keg selection was even more impressive and quite a world tour: Fruli, Kirin, Red Stripe, Blue Moon, Brooklyn, Leffe, Estrella, Peroni and a wheat beer that I didn't note down, try and do all those in one session!

Apparently this pub gets heaving on a Friday evening as the nearby offices empty (that inludes you lot at HMRC at Euston Tower) but on a hot Saturday afternoon it's a great place to sit out front and have a lazy drink.

flashharry1965 - 19 Jul 2010 11:56
Have to say, very pleasantly surprised. A really smart job, much better than expected menu. Real quality refurb, and amazing draught selection of lagers & ales.
camraman123 - 1 Jul 2010 15:58
Being turned into a Crown Inn. Thats the M&B chain that likes to come across as independant cool pubs. This will be the 6th, the other 5 are very close. The Albany, Gt Portland St, Green Man Foley St, Carpenters Arms Howland St, Crown & Sceptre Fitzrovia and The Phoenix Cavendish Sq. So expect a fantastic drinks selection terribly served and poorly microwaved Brake Bros burgers. MMMmmmmmm & B
camraman123 - 14 Jun 2010 19:17
We are currently closed for a major refurbishment and will be opening on the 30th June. Please come and visit to sample our new food menu, extensive beer range including 5 cask ales and great atmosphere.
We are currently looking for staff. For information on vacancies or just to tell us which ales you'd like to see please email [email protected]
powf - 27 May 2010 20:24
Looks better from the outside than the gloomy interior with banging music and only London Pride on tap when we went in last night. Will head across the road to the Bree Louise next time I'm in the area instead.
DuchyBoy - 31 Mar 2010 08:36
Single roomed pub on Warren St a stones throw from the tube. The interior starts out quite narrow but opens out into wider area at the rear. There are a number of flat screens dotted around but no one was paying them muh attention on my visit (perhaps because it wasn't a great game showing).

The ales on offer were Pride, GKIPA and Rudolph (from Shepherd Neame I think) but there was a far more impressive display of clips and mats behind the bar indicating that the selection might be a bit more imaginative at other times.

Clientele was varied in age and demeanour but no chavs or anything else that might be considered painful.

Not a bad place for a pint if in the area.
murgatroyd - 19 Dec 2009 08:58
As described below OK, but largely unassuming one bar pub handy for Warren Street tube. Bar area to the front with a seating area to the back. There is a small area for sitting outside on the pavement, but Warren Street is quite a busy cut through so cant imagine its pleasant to do so. Beers were GK IPA, OSH and Fullers Pride. Pride was good enough but not much here to drag me back again.
Gann - 28 Aug 2009 14:38
Ok, but uninspiring. Very handy for Warren Street tube though.
nmckenn - 7 Jul 2009 20:47
This place seems to be a meeting point of the loud and obnoxious sniffers that travel into London and pollute it on a Friday and Saturday night. The music is almost as loud as the groups of drunken blokes shouting at each other as they make their way up to the toilet in groups of three.

There are plenty of plasma screens for the Sky Sports, so it would probably be an ok place to go in the daytime if a game of interest was on.

During my visit Pedigree, Pride and Greene King IPA were all available along with a standard draught selection. The Pride was ok, but I didnt appreciate having it tossed in my general direction by a young tit of a barman who needs to be knocked down a peg or two.

This could easily be a great pub, but alas it just doesnt quite cut it at the moment.
Strongers - 18 Jun 2009 15:15
Nothing special, but a reasonable-enough place to stop for a pint near Warren Street tube. Had to wait a few minutes for a new barrel of Pride to be put on, but happily did so as the only other real ale offering was Greene King IPA. Not quite sure why the TVs had to battle things out with the music - you would think that there would be a mute button somewhere...
rpadam - 18 Feb 2009 23:30
Now under new management, as of 01/12/08

Stop by and enjoy our large range of wines or one of our excellent refreshing beers!! ____ soft drink anyone??

I aim to make The Prince of Wales Feathers into what it should be, a fantastic pub with excellent service and what you'd expect, well looked after beer.
You'll feel the need to pop in and say hello... !

I love that place...
lovely atmosphere...
often...thinking of the day I spent in London I remember it with "nostalgia", I begin to smile...and I miss the greatest beef I ever eat
enjoy it ;)

valeria - 24 Oct 2008 14:58
Went on a Saturday afternoon. Insufficient staff. Loud and ugly customers. No visible price list. Went in and went out again. Thiis a Sattelite TV pub devoted to sports channels - bah.
mycetes - 18 Oct 2008 23:06
Highly recommended with excellent barstaff. Extremely reasonably priced too and beer well kept. About 50p a pint cheaper than most other central London pubs - almost 1 cheaper than the Oxford Arms in Camden... Good atmosphere and well run. It gets busy for a reason.
sof2210 - 11 May 2008 23:09
I'd never been in this pub near my work and decided to drop in this lunchtime for a much needed swift reviver after last minute Xmas shopping. It was very busy (Friday lunchtime - standing room only) but despite that I was served immediately with an excellent pint of Robinsons Mr Scrooge. Others on offer were Brains Party Popper and Theakstons Old Peculier. What a wonderful change from the usual offerings.

Nothing special about the decor - I agree with much of what has been said already. And yes, the barman might just have been Icelandic, but who knows!

sussexred - 21 Dec 2007 14:23
Awful place. Small, pokey and rammed. Last time I was there I waited over 15 mins to be served - gave up in the end and went somewhere else - won't be back.
jonnyboy122 - 24 Nov 2007 14:28
went in this evening , wasnt expecting much as the place was packed , but so i was told by a very friendly barman this was quiet ho hum , couple of real ale pumps didnt see what though as was miles away from them , a outstanding array of fizzy water which i tried , the fosters was nice , didnt try the toilets or the food but was ok for a pint , the football was on and was a good atmosphere but loud n packed
romfordir - 9 Mar 2007 00:28
Reasonable for a swift pint but no character. Conversely, nothing to get really angry about. For the better read out there, this is suspected of being one of the pubs that was a principle inspiration for The Midnight Bell public house in Patrick Hamilton's classic novel Twenty Thousand Streets Under The Sky.
ChapmanBaxter - 31 Jan 2007 18:54
Seemed ok, a reasonable place for an ale and propper stools at the bar. Not a bad bet if you're in the area but nothing special.
OldRogue - 28 Dec 2006 13:52
Bad conversion or not, SilkTork's comments are valid. Unpretentious place that is adequate for a pint or two. Nothing special but nothing offensive either. Was watching the FA Cup there on Saturday but we were kicked out afterwards due to it apparently not opening on a weekend normally due to lack of custom. Very odd but I know a few other pubs do this in the area.

Sorry to hear about Ye Olde Surgeon. That was a good pub, although can't comment on what it's been turned into.

casemore - 24 Apr 2006 17:03
I have news for Mr Silk Tork (see below). This is not a home converted into a pub: rather, it is a decent and much-missed pub converted into a dull and soulless bar. A great favourite on the 1990s Fitzrovia drinking scene, but alas no more. I would go so far as to say this is the worst pub refurbishment ever apart from the absolute desecration which turned Ye Olde Surgeon in Tottenham Court Road just round the corner into the Pint Pot.
Martinl - 3 Mar 2006 13:40
Went with friends for a few drinks here after work last night and was pretty impressed. Quite comfortable, cheap beer and efficient bar staff. Wouldn't go out of my way to visit it, but it's definitely where I'd head for if I was in the area and fancied a drink.
Gostevie - 28 Oct 2005 13:19
Homely local in the mainly residential part of Fitzrovia near Warren Street tube. Cricket on two screens and Capital Radio on the speakers. Lots of assorted seating going quite deep into what appears to be a converted home. London Pride and Landlord in good condition. Nothing special, but an honest, unpretentious pub.
SilkTork - 16 Aug 2005 20:06
Had the nicest chicken caesar salad here at lunchtime - reasonable prices..Not bad in general
me.dobson - 30 Jun 2005 15:44
If you like reasonably priced beer and watching sports, this pub is great. Nicely furnished and decorated, two good sized screens, friendly staff, near to the tube - all things considered, the best place I've found recently (and this area is otherwise rubbish for pubs). The only drawback is that it's not open on Sundays, when I'd really like to go watch footy there sometimes.
furface - 21 May 2005 12:01
Proper small London boozer ....
W980501 - 15 Apr 2005 11:10
Quality bar staff, well priced drinks and a big screen. Underrated.
OllyMott - 29 Mar 2005 18:16
Didn't stop for a drink, it was rammed with rugger-buggers watching the big-screen sport and has one very, very busy girl behind the bar.

Not complaining, just saying it wasn't my sort of place.
MrScott - 22 Nov 2004 09:01
Lovely Columbian Girl, her name jessica! I've never seen girl like that! I'll be there every nite! I think I'have crushed on her!
paolo - 27 Jan 2004 19:24
Lovely pub, authentic looking, and decent music played softly enough to have a conversation over. 1.50 on selected drinks on Weds, which is nice.
Ruby - 30 Jul 2003 21:21
Best pub ever! Have had some amazing nights there. The friendliest staff Ive ever met :o)
tinna - 25 Jun 2003 11:56
It's alright. A few dodgy Scandinavians, some lethal cocktails and it's close enough to fall onto (not under) the tube.
andrew - 24 Jun 2003 13:38
Great pub! I go there almost every day...relaxing atmosphere and extremely friendly staff...most of them Icelandic!
Anita - 24 Jun 2003 13:31
I love this place lots of Icelanders hang out there !!! :)
Henny - 23 Jun 2003 23:46
Nice pub. Was there on a Friday night. It was not too busy and it was very easy to get served. Staff were friendly and happy to have a quick chat.
Alistair - 24 Mar 2003 09:27
very pleasant Icelandic barmaid
andy - 21 Mar 2003 15:37
Mostly media and sales people who work nearby. They tend to move on later though.
Owen - 21 Jan 2003 17:38
Conveniently located almost next to McDonalds. Tables outside in summer
