Another name change, it's now the The Crafty Pig
A quick stop off on my way to Inn Deep on Great Western Road.
This bar is billed as a Brewhouse and smoke pit it was worthy of a quick half.
Ribs and chicken and all things bar b q feature heavily on the menu and it certainly looked and smelt good.
12 taps dispensing a mix of ales, lager and cider. I went for a half of Thwaites 13 Guns @ 5.5% as this really was a quick stop.
Decorated in a bar style with little booths and large bench tables. Out the back are 2 pool tables and cages that house the extensive bottle selection, a quick scan of the menu shows in excess of 30 bottles from all over the UK further afield.
A really cool place , I may even bring the wife here for food at some stage!
Worth the stop.

Now its The Wise Monkey. Good pint of Caledonian 80 shillings this lunchtime. They do gigs as well.

Shut down last time I went past.

Not very inspiring interior perhaps but there is a range of handpulled beers, mainly from local breweries.

Hubbards is a fantastically well run pub! I visited it last sat (02/10/04) and was extremely impressed at what I found! Tasty, traditional food, quality real ales with an extensive wine selection-perfect-caters for everybody! I was made to feel most welcome by the management team of Claudia & Alan. Great pub! Wish I lived nearer and I'd make it my local!!

Considering the fact that the pub is centered in a country where drinking is nearly first and foremost for evening, the pub is fine. I view all UK pubs as places that belong to the people there, all other visitors are incidental and enjoy the old world charm. I've noticed while living in the US, there is much emphasis highest profit margin, where pubs here simply survive through loyalty and the owners are happy. I love Hubbard's pub and can't wait to come again.

Comments agreed with, nothing unusual but if the below description is what you're after it's pretty good. Standard selection of beers though, needs to try harder.

Hubbard's is cool. It's the sort of place you can go into any time of the day as dressed up or casual as you want and feel totally at ease. It's not quite an old man's pub, but it's verging on it. The staff are lovely, especially Matthew, he's a star. They are helpful and friendly, but know when to leave you alone. The food is delicious and the drink is average price for the West End of Glasgow. I'm slightly biased, but it's a great little pub.
