Good quality popular Wetherspoons - not a 'real pub' atmosphere but they have some good beers on and the staff are usually pretty good.

Reasonable 'spoons in the pleasant centre of Bridgnorth. Very well situated for somewhere to come during shopping. There do seem to be a lot of pubs in this town though so if you were there for the pubs this is just one of many. Still, above average for a Wetherspoons probably because of its situation. You get barflies in any 'spoons, it is a sad fact of life and not one that should stop you from going in.

typical wetherspoons ales in good condition good prices but the decor is a bit bland handy for early breakfast to.

We had just enough time for a pint before catching our bus back to Shrewsbury and as the Golden Lion was closed we headed next door into this Wetherspoons. The beer (three Tuns) was very good and fairly priced and the place was pretty busy - hope this place doesn't harm the trade of the many other pubs in town. Perhaps I'll consider a weekend pub crawl to try the others some day!!

Decent pints of Three Tuns & Abbott (Limited selection for a JDW) and nice paninis - pleasant Friday afternoon crowd

Great pint of Jaipur Pale ale for only 1.79! Crystal clear and served in a pint pot.

What I loved about this pub was its attention to real ale ,where customers can view a 'guest ale list' and mark their preferences for ales to be on sale.

I was pleasantly suprised that this was not your run of the mill weatherspoons - a real community pub.

The good things... it's JDW so it's cheap and loads of beers on offer. Coffee is a steal but stupid queue system in place on somedays. Food is mostly okay but sometimes the service can be slow when low staff on. The bad things... the barfly characters that seem to be in there all the time. Food sometimes is crap and late. TV reception is crap. No outside seating.

As with so many Wetherspoons, a few more bar staff would speed things up no end. However I went on a Thursday and again on a Sunday evening for a beer and a meal, and very reasonable they were too. Friday night does get very hectic and busy.

Friday 11th July 2:00pm

Pint of Woods 'Summer That' excellent nick , at 1.79p brilliant.
Severed quickly, staff very knowledgeable about the local ale.
Food arrived quickly, no complaints as for quality and services for 2.99.
Toilets very clean and airy.
Some local characters looked if they could do with a good clean up, but considering that this pub is opposite the bus stops, it clear to see that all they wanted is a cheap pint, company , and then travel back to their rural villages. (free bus passes ?)
They caused no treat to anyone, but its Spoon's for gods sake, so what do you expect. No problem returning, I'm not local so no axe to grind, only reported what I saw on the day.

Considering it was Friday night late on the pub was clean, not full of kids, and sold a decent pint of Shardlow Fools Gold. We got served fairly quick as well.

Only called in for a quick half on our crawl around the town , Sat 2 May. Well populated but inside looks tired. Toilets very bright and clean. Had half a Batemans which was poor. Be warned they have a queuing system for coffees on Saturdays. Pay as normal then join queue at coffee machine to be served. Helps keep bar staff available. Sure it has better days but next door showed the way.........

Called in for a pint last night. All tables clean, prompt service at the bar and a decent pint of Banks & Taylor Golden Fox. Must be a different duty manager on or something. A massive improvement from my last visit. Keep it up guys.

Called in last night, had a pint of Shropshire Lass rather than Lad. It was OK. Small town, large town, city, it doesn't seem to matter to Wetherspoons, they all seem to have the same basic staff problems. Slow service, dirty tables etc. If the staff training keeps winning awards(according to their posters) then why doesn't it work. Or (sudden light bulb in brain) ARE THEY ACTUALLY BEING TRAINED TO BE LIKE THIS. Maybe we've all been getting it wrong, Maybe IT IS company policy to be really average/poor. Hadn't thought of that before, time for a lie down.

rude aggressive awful manager cannot look you in eye a bully yes the one who worked on monday 1st december will not come back here, Had the nerve to say they live in Bridgnorth so do we in the High Street. Staff want to learn some quality manners towards customers we have been in busines a very ong time and would not pay the manager in buttons someone needs to moniter this ones behaviour

IS it me, or has the staff situation improved recently?

Good real ales but you ALWAYS have to wait at the bar for ages to get served. Food is plastic as you'd expect at Wetherspoons but hey, there's no McDonalds in Bridgnorth so it comes in handy. Grumpy, disinterested staff.
matt33 - 5 May 2007 20:27
Bog standard wetherspoons.

Cheap, but not as cheap as it was, and inoffensive food - again, generally fresh from the microwave, so why not just have a ready meal before you come out?

Particularly disinterested/unpleasent bar staff - and look closely, I defy you to find a member of staff who isnt at least a "supervisor."

A real mix of a pub; by day a good choice for a standard, cheap meal but by night a real problem. The bar becomes too busy, the management seem comprehend that more staff are required, and the wait becomes terrible.

Serves "real ales", but is normally badly kept.

On the plus side, going smoke-free from later in 2005.
