GK pub and a bit shiney, shiney at the bar area. Polite staff, TV screens showing football. Beer was OK - for a GK outlet ("outlet", not pub)

Didn't see where I was going until I got to the bar. A shiver ran down my spine - I'm in a Greene King pub. IPA, OSH and Landlord could not tempt me to stay.

can,t get seved so gave up and went to another pub. needs bar staff

A pleasant enough pub in a prime position on the quay. It's a fair size inside with a pool table out the back, and a few tables out the front to take advantage of the view. Staff seem friendly and helpful. Menu is standard pub grub, presumably trying to compete with the Wetherspoon's a few doors up as it's very similar. The barmaid warned me that there may be a wait for the food of between 15 - 30 minutes and offered to check with the kitchen to get a more precise time if I would like. You can't really say fairer than that, and in the event it only took about 15 minutes anyway. On the downside the lettuce served with the burger was well past it's best being all brown on the edges (I feel obliged to deduct a point for this as it's really inexcusable), and the beer choice was rather uninspiring, namely Greene King IPA, Speckled Hen and St. Edmunds. Also Strongbow cider on tap.

I imagine it was a lovley pub once, although all the staff are friendly, there seems to be no managment. foods ok, beers ok. But the regular clientell in my recent visit took a lot to be desired!

really good atmosphere, always have a laugh with the very friendly landlord. good beer good staff and great location.

Met the very friendly Glasweigan landlord in the pub last weekend - and returned later for an excellent dinner (large, fresh fish). Beer and atmosphere was good and the walk around the corner to the gents was no big deal. The location is prime, maybe the best in Poole.

Ok pub but obviously designed for "grockles". Touristy atmosphere and decor, very long walk to toilets as others have said, and the food and beer were nothing special. Plus it took over an hour to cook and serve steak and chips!

The Landlord is getting married on Friday 4th April 2008. Come dressed as a pirate to the reception in the Jolly Sailor at 3pm, and be entertained by the Wareham Whalers shanty crew.

Its not great but its ok, strange locals, bog standard beer, foods not bad, toilets are about a mile from the bar.
|
Great location, interesting customers. Nipped in for a quick one but left pretty sharpish. Good pub atmosphere.

Definately the place to be on a Summers afternoon!
|
Nice pub on poole quay the only problem is there was no real ale just bog standard john smiths

Rude and stupid barstaff spoilt what is otherwise a decent pub in a good location. Here's a tip - when you get the drinks order wrong, simply apologise and get the right one instead of blaming me for the error and talking to me like I'm five.

I didn't think this place was that bad, but was put off slightly by some of the other patrons. Firstly a drunken old man called Brian decided to dribble at me in the gents, followed by shaking hands (I think it was hands)
Then outside, some annoying bint was going on about bacteria in your fingernails being lethal and having "snake like" hips - Which might have been true, but this was slightly marred by her 80's haircut, which a lot of the ladies in Dorset do seem to have.
Anyway I digress - The pub wasn't that bad so I would recommend stopping off on any quay pub crawl - Just watch out in the toilets.

Pub facilities/features need updating - doesn't have live music and has not done so for some time.
