Man On The Moon, Kings Nortonback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Arriving at 6pm on warm Thursday evening for a meal, the pub was busy and had a convivial atmosphere. The two meals ordered, 8oz gammon plus an all day breakfast, were served prompty, were well-cooked and very tasty. The sweets were even better, chocolate cake and ice cream and fudge brownie cake and cream; both were very large portions, and well presented. In other pubs I have paid more than twice the cost for meals as here, and received only half as much food! Service from the staff was first closs, if a little slow at the bar due to the number of customers. You will find it difficult to find such excellent value food as at this M&B house, and I would certainly recommend it as worth a visit.

My daughter recently went to the Man on the Moon in Kings Norton with her friend for a quiet drink only to be continuously interputed buy rude and foul mouthed customers sitting around them and propositioning them, which they found very unconmfortable especially after asking the people to go away and leave them alone. Not only were most of the customers like this but they were allowed to smoke inside the premises and the manager along with the bar staff did nothing to stop them, is the law different in Kings Norton? I hasten to say they will not be going back, ever.

The Man On The Moon pub had been recommended to me and my family by one of our neighbours. After hearing that the pub had recently been took over and done out, we decided to give it a try.
We sat down and ordered our meal. Soon enough our meals arrived and all of us were utterly disgusted by what was put in front of us.
The peas were tinned. The mash potato was instant. The steak was fatty and they had bought me a chicken wrap instead of the chicken baguette I had asked for.
However, that was not the worst of it. I opened up my chicken wrap to find two small pieces of cold, greasy chicken. After cutting it in half the chicken appeared transparent and therefore I believed it to be undercooked.
I complained to the waiter (who was also the bar tender) and he went off into the kitchen to consult with the 'chef'. Before too long he came back out and told me the chicken was definitely cooked because they BUY THE FOOD IN ALREADY COOKED. All they do is warm it up.
I was disgusted and appalled. The person running the kitchen was obviously not a chef. Having paid for the meal before we got served we had no leg to stand on when it came to refusing to pay.
If you are looking for a decent pub which serves a good meal and has atmosphere then the Man On The Moon must be avoided at all costs.

Better inside than it looks, although you have to get past the pool table to get to the gents. Cheap beer although the bar staff were clueless on my last visit
