Now changed to a faux Italian restaurant, and not a very good one either.
They sell beer and other booze of course, but essentially it is now a restaurant not a pub.

I believe it was "The Steam Rock Cafe" or some such. Its not that anymore and its not the Market house either because its closed down.

Could be a real showpiece pub in the middle of town if taken on by someone with a bit of quality, alas not the case a bit of a dump, shame really has potential for better things with its location.

If you consider it stylish to go out wearing a dirty white shell suit, get pissed up on butterscotch flavour vodka, throw up, start a fight and then get chucked out by the bouncers, then this is the place for you.(And that's just the girls).

WHAT A DUMP, THE PUB HAS JUST HAD A REFIT AND IS STILL A DUMP .. THE BAR STAFF ARE RUDE, LAZY AND UP THERE OWN ASS.. AVOID THIS PLACE .......

This pub, which is actually in the middle of Taunton rather than out in the sticks is currently closed for a refurb and will open with a new manager.
Whether the owners will employ a responsible manager or just another idiot like the last one remains to be seen.

The post given in this pub's details above is incorrect. I think it must be TA1 1JJ.
It is in fack slap bang in the middle of Taunton, which is a pity because it's a real dump.

If you're after fairly priced drinks in a fairly decent atmosphere then this isn't a bad place at all. It does have a VERY young audience, but if you're a young person yourself then you're sure to enjoy the cocktail and shots offers they have on.
The two levels make it interesting too, upstairs has a dance floor and DJ and downstairs has some pool tables and a cocktail bar. The security is pretty good both inside and outside and the music varies from night to night.
It's not classy or elegant in the slightest but if you're looking for somewhere to get some cheap shots in then you can't really go wrong. Plus it's right in the center of town.
