The Pump House, Brighton

Popped in here for a couple drinks mid-week on an overnighter to my old stomping ground and was very impressed. Nice atmosphere with friendly staff and had a superb Harveys in a handle! Great range of drinks and service and there seemed to be a decent range of food (and some nifty bar snacks) though didn't get a chance to sample. As one post already mentioned - got a window seat and indulged in a little people watching!
Highly recommended!

The Plough Inn, South Ealing

This is my local (used to live literally next door and now round the corner) and its a great pub overall. The re-fit a few years back did the place the world of good and the latest extension and sort out of the beer garden ahve improved it no end. Plenty of comfy seating inside (though the nights when big tables get reserved is a pain) and lots of room outside. Food is very good, though a bit pricey. Sure every pub will have some problems but mostly this place is excellent overall. And the late opening hours are very very useful!

The Townhouse, Ealing

RIP Townhouse. Ok not a classy joint but if you avoided the chaos at weekends then this was a perfectly fine place to meet up in the day. It was a simple drinking pub. Food was pointless (a point that the assisstant manager pointed out to us herself) but the staff were friendly and had enough TVs to watch a game or two. Just a simple no-nonsense boozer that Ealing Broadway now misses. Nothing flash or trendy but sometimes thats what is needed.
