The Lion Hotel, Dulverton

had the pleasure of returning to dulverton on business pop in to a few pubs and had a good pint in the lion, they had a thing called cast mark in there now which, so i was told meant they had met a high standard with their ales. had the usual Exmoors but now there is the gold instead of the fox (very nice) and a Cotliegh, but had a fourth pump for guest ones had a very nice Otter bitter on. still a good place for a pint of real ale top marks.

Woods, Dulverton

did not no the landlords name but moses says its paddy, he was very arrogant in the way he dealt with the customers, I was sitting in the corner and overheard a complaint and he dealt with it in a way that I personally believe is not right. the food was nice but quite dear. the bar man Will was very chatting and friendly, good mix of drinkers and eaters but very noise when it got past 10! don't argee with dr pangloss about the best pint it tasted as all the real ales tasted the same but just had different bar clip (maybe my palate is not what it use to be). overall disappointed for what it cost.

The Lion Hotel, Dulverton

i don't agree with the last two comments at all. stayed in the hotel recently and had a wonderful stay in a newly renovated room. the food was lovely and good value and the beers were the best in town as opposed to flat in one other pub and extremely cold ales in another. bar staff were friendly and helpful. had a very nice stay and definitely be back soon.
