A very dog friendly pub / hotel with a good selection of beers (usually at least one Cotleigh on, plus others) Only criticism is that it doesn't open 'till 6pm on a Saturday and thus misses out on my 'early doors' trade whilst the wife is otherwise engaged shopping etc. There's usually a queue outside by 6pm as well.

A little to foody and hotel like for me. (yes i know that it is one)
We just had the one as we felt a little scruffy in our wet walking gear.

6/10

We dropped in on a busy Saturday lunchtime when there was a wedding party in the restuarant area and the bar was pretty busy too. We were wondering how long we'd have to wait for our food but it arrived promptly and in good shape. Friendly service and a decent pint of Exmoor. As someone else has commented, this is more a hotel than a pub, but it has a good atmosphere and appears to be popular with locals as well as with visitors.

had the pleasure of returning to dulverton on business pop in to a few pubs and had a good pint in the lion, they had a thing called cast mark in there now which, so i was told meant they had met a high standard with their ales. had the usual Exmoors but now there is the gold instead of the fox (very nice) and a Cotliegh, but had a fourth pump for guest ones had a very nice Otter bitter on. still a good place for a pint of real ale top marks.
