The Barmy Arms, Twickenham

Stood outside with the masses pre kickoff, turned to my mate and said 'don't know why we always meet up here, it's not even that nice a pub' A statement that raised a chorus of agreement, and I suspect the one sober thought I produced that day.

Never the less, I imagine we shall meet up here again for pre match drinks in the foreseeable future.

The Barmy Arms, Twickenham

I have never had a particularly bad experience in this pub. I have been told off for wearing a football shirt. It was a very old FC Barcelona t shirt -not even official kit or anything- that I cycle in (I don't even like football that much). All a bit bewildering but that's their rules and it was all handled with humour and calmness.
The beer is nothing to rave about. I've never had to take my pint back but as with so many pubs the Cask Marque sign is barely deserved. The 'please tell us what beers you'd like us to stock' sign needs to be removed or supplemented with a sign saying 'This sign is for decorational purposes only'.
The staff have always been curtious and friendly except a couple of occasions on rugby days when the staff were downright dismissive and uninterested. They weren't the usual staff (maybe St Mary's students- god help us) and didn't recognise me as a local. I had to practically beg them to disengage from their cliquey interchange and pull me my drink. Then again rugby crowds do bring out the worst in many people.
Its strongest point is its beer garden- great on a balmy day. Nice one the Thames.
Basically a sound- main criticisms would go to Punch Taverns themselves.
