The Castle Hotel, Hope Valley

The first thing one notices about this pub is the stange, musty smell, especially in the back room. If you are in a hurry, or even mildly hungry don't order food here as they seem to take an astonishingly long long time to deliver even the simplest of meals (we ordered a burger that appeared to be a cheap iceland style burger and bun, and poor quality oven chips). When we queried why our food had not turned up after 40 minutes, the staff were very unhelpful, and really not bothered. The food is really not worth the wait. Go to The Bulls Head across the road instead!
