The Running Horses, Lydiate

Visited this pub for the first time since it was reopened an was not impressed.
After walking 3 miles to get there to take family members to what we thought was
a nice pub we were made to feel unwelcome from the second we set foot on the premises. With signs displayed every few feet on the wall saying what is not allowed, no welcome sign insight though. why on earth have a pub on the banks of the canal and ban people from wearing workwear and fishing clothing or ban people sitting outside with their dogs. When we approached the bar to purchase drinks for adults an one small child we were informed that children were not allowed on the premises after 9 o'clock. We stayed for one very quick drink which was consumed at the very edge of their carpark when a very apologetic member of staff informed us that we were not welcome. The person in question was very sorry an did not agree with the pubs policy but was forced to up hold it. Considering it was a weekend night an all other pubs were busy this one had a mere 3 cars in the car park an not many patrons inside. I feel that this may be because they have banned the majority of people who have previously stopped for a quick drink whilst walking along the canal. Would be a nice lookin pub if a few on the 15 or so of the signs were removed.
