The Running Horses, Lydiate

This pub has recently had an expensive refurbishment. I am local to Lydiate and walk my dogs in this area every day. Unfortunately, I am not allowed even inside the grounds of the pub. It would be nice to sit outside on a sunny day after a long walk. But the first thing you notice about this pub is the NO DOGS ALLOWED sign at the front of the pub and another sign in the outside seating area.

Considering this is a canal side pub, I cannot for the life of me, think why there is also a notice by the door, not allowing entrance to anyone with FISHING GEAR. Also NO WORKING CLOTHES allowed.

I would have thought that this canal side country pub, would appeal to the locals. But apparently not.

I agree with some of the other reviews posted. Best travel a bit further up the road to the Scarisbrick, quick jaunt with the dogs along side the canal and then a nice pint or cold drink and sandwich in the sun.
