The Fur and Feather Inn, Woodbastwick

We have just got back from a long weekend on the broads and overall we had a great experience everywhere we went. With the exception of our trip to the Fur & Feathers. We moored quite late getting all sorted by 7.30pm and realising that it was about a mile walk to the pub we called ahead to check that they would still serve food and the staff said they served up to 9pm.
However when we arrived at the pub just before 8pm they told us that they were not taking any food orders except for people who had pre-booked as they were extremely busy.
We had some issues with this information, 1) the restaurant was half full, and 2) clearly if they had told us this when we rang we would have stayed on our boat. 3) they told us that they might start serving again, however we were told to keep asking, so every twenty mins we did, just to be told still not serving and all the while watching others come into the pub and have their orders taken.

I have no doubt that the food may be great as per some of the prior reviews, but at the weekend if you are a tourist you have a limited chance of getting any, as preference is given to people who pre-book. (and judging by what we saw, this means people who are local and drive to the venue rather than tourists)

If you want a good pint then this is a good pub, however if you are looking for food, I suggest you keep your kitchen well stocked on board your boat!
