The Green Man, Fitzrovia

In there this lunchtime walked to the side of the bar, plenty of space not a "no service here sign in place."

With a lack of customer service and social skills not often seen even in this country the barman said: "Go to the front of the bar." in a manner which gives surliness a bad name.

We went to the front right to the front so far in front in fact we were two blocks away in a better boozer.

Will not return to what was a Beardy Nathan Bailey hole anyway.

AVOID

The Ship Inn, Burnham on Crouch

Stayed in The Oyster Smack Inn down the road, but came out for a walk and having tried two other local pubs which were okay but not really doing for us we gave it one last shot and popped in here, very glad we did.

Friendly and what I would describe as an "old school" landlord we both had a ploughmans one cheese and one ham, both were excellent, highly recommend this pub.

The Prince Albert (Rose's), Woolwich

Fantastic traditional pub, very well keep ales. At about 12.30 - 12.45 Jackie comes down with the rolls, it does not get any better than this.

Love the Thames Tunnel and Friggin in the Riggin in fact all the beers we tried were great.

A mention must go to the Medieval Madness pinball table "start the trolls"

Could I have lasted 3 months in Woolwich without this place, I doubt it.

The Keston Lodge, Islington

Looks good, very chic, just not so good if you actually want a drink, or expect any form of even reasonable service

Bar Polska, Holborn

I will have a bottle of Honey Vodka with the top off please (trust me it tastes better than it sounds) Awesome Vodka and Polish beer fuelled bar great friendly staff. The landlord on every round patently tried to explain the pronunciation of the Polish beer I had forgotten upon my return every time (see Honey Vodka above). Will be back soon, did I mention the Vodka?

The Grave Maurice, Whitechapel

Excellent pub for Monopoly Pub crawls, just 50 yards from the tube, and not a bad pub either.
