No connection to Red Lion eghamlocal lol - would hardly praise another pub if, I were. Few lunches, I have had in Monkey Forehead always been excellent and well above Red Lion in presentation and quality.

Had sunday lunch there recently and was one of best roast beef lunches. I have ever had. Only problem unless you are a sports fan best to time your visit before or after premier matches or if weather good can sit outside.

This was my favourite pub in Egham until short time ago. My boyfriend drew my attention to the habit they have of leaving glass under draught beer tap to collect drainage then serve it to the next customer. This is very unhygeinic as the beer can run down the bar persons hand and could be laying around before next customer is served.
Since this was mentioned to me, I have noted all the bar staff adopt this practice, so it must be instructions from management to do this.
Thank goodness we still have Alma Mata as a decent pub.

Yes agree with kim that this pub needs to do bit more marketing - most people I speak to dont know whether its a pub restaurant - still the railway or the Alma Mata - its a good pub, good food and friendly service, please dont let this pub go down the shoot - we need pubs like you in Egham.

Visited this pub again last week and still impressed. As mentioned very friendly efficient service and food above the normal Egham 'pub food' - best thing about the pub although may be fairly quiet on certain evenings it is 'chav free' and hope remains that way.
