Light Bar, Shoreditch

Some folks dont seem to like it, but I find it quite a cool place. Good um-cha um-cha, decent enough selection of beers, and good groove inside, outside and upstairs in the lounge / roof terrace.

The Crown Tavern, Clerkenwell

I'm lucky to live close by, this is mu local! great food, great choice of beer, quirky (and yes: very European) interior. On warm days you can lounge in the green (sorry: piazza), an added plus.
Only draw-back: it's frighteningly popular with the after-work crowd, which makes the pub a no-go zone on friday evenings.

Henry J Beans, Chelsea

5* beer garden - among the top 3 in London. Quite surreal setting, smack bang in the middle of London.

Beers OK-ish (San Miguel isnt my favourite, but there isnt any better on offer really), food pretty good.

The Telegraph , Putney Heath

A great effort to revive the pub at this splendid location. The setting is superb, you dont really feel like you're in London. On the negative side, the food tries to be fancy & special, however, I find it overpriced and distinctly average. The burger meat tastes funny (a mix of lamb and beef), the garnish almost non existent and the chips average. I tried on another occasion the bangers & mash, which tasted like they were just reheated in a micro. The lagers on tap are OK-ish, but could improve from adding 1 or 2.

Once the food improves, this will score 10 out of 10.

The Green Man, Putney Heath

Good choice of beer, excellent food. A bit smokey - but this will improve from June onwards. Beer garden OK-ish, but can't compare to the Telegraph Inn just up the road (which, in turn, scores lower on food & beers).
