The Kingston Mill, Kingston Upon Thames

Came here not long ago just as a stop on a pub crawl. It was my first time there and it was lovely. Definitely made me wanna go back.

The Lot, Richmond

Probably the best pub I've ever been to, bar none. The most friendly staff you'll ever meet, a jukebox which is awesome (Although it needs an update) and very cheap for Richmond. Always a good atmosphere. Would very much recommend (and I have) to anyone.

O'Neills, Kingston Upon Thames

Came here on a Saturday night figuring it would be like every other O'neils, but to be honest it wasn't as good. You get this snobby vibe from a lot of people who come here (Which isn't the pubs fault really) and the live music was just plain awful. You couldn't even hear the singer, and she was using a lyric book to sing a long to which I thought was very unprofessional. Overall, I wouldn't say this was a bad pub, really. It's just populated by Snobs who think they're too good to go clubbing, and the live music (on this occasion) was quite poor.

Owain Glyndwr, Cardiff

Me and my 4 friends went here on a Saturday morning for breakfast. To be honest, it is one of the worst breakfasts I have ever had. I paid £4.99 for a standard breakfast (Bacon, Sausages, Egg, Hash browns, Beans, Cherry Tomatoes and a Mushroom). The first thing that annoyed me was how long I had to wait for it. I had to sit and watch as 3 of my friends ate their bacon sandwiches, whilst me and my friend waited for our full breakfasts, and another one of my friends waited for a scrambled egg on toast. They finished them long before we even got ours.

Our breakfast’s finally arrived after waiting for maybe 20 to 30 minutes. I do not understand how it took this long, as it wasn’t as if the place was heaving with customers. Also, they were luke warm at best and not prepared very well. I have no complaints about the sausages and hash browns; and I cannot complain about the tomatoes because I don't eat them. But the bacon can only be described as straggly, the beans were all stuck together and the eggs on my plate differed from the eggs on my friend’s plate, even though we asked for the same meal. His eggs were sunny side up and mine was fried into one eggy mass on my plate. It really perplexes me how they managed that. Frankly, the meal didn't taste that good either and it was a very disappointing way to start the day. Paying nearly five pound for this meal, which you also get a hot drink for, was nowhere near worth it. The lack of toast was also a very big let-down.

When my friend’s scrambled egg on toast arrived (which was after our meals had arrived, so around the half an hour mark) the egg looked like rice and was, again, luke warm. Even though it was good quality ciabatta bread, the "toast", was hardly toasted. It was basically just scrambled egg (and I use that term loosely) on bread, and to be honest it didn’t look great. The only positives I can find in this ill-fated trip was the presentation of my friends bacon sandwiches, which looked very professionally done. But as I said, when other meals turned up it was a completely different story. Also, to be fair, the people working there seemed quite friendly, with one man who worked there (I am unsure of his name now) standing out with very cheery customer service.

Overall, I expected a lot better than what I got at this pub. It could have just been a bad day at the office, as I have only been once, but that one time has put me off for life. I would not recommend coming here for breakfast. The food was very below par and it still baffles me a few days later how it took so long to make this food and it still wasn’t very good.
