I went here a few weeks ago and ordered a gruyere and ham panini, which was of the poorest standard I have ever seen! The bread was soggy and soft (instead of nicely baked like a panini should be!) The gruyere tasted more like cheddar, and was not melted properly, so had gone a bit 'sweaty'. The ham just looked like the wafer thin slices you can get from your local supermarket. The chips were ok, but had been ruined by a great lump of ketchup that had been put on the plate (I do not eat ketchup). When I told them this, they took it away, only to wipe it off in the kitchen so I couldn't eat 1/4 of the panini and most of the chips! Never eating there again!!!

This place is terrible. Thankfully the awful managers they had there previously have been kicked out, but its not much better now. staff look miserable, food is served cold and quite often takes up to an hour to arrive.
this place could be so much better...needs new, enthusiastic staff and a set of friendly managers.
even the locals dont go there anymore.

The Swan Inn and Lodge, Claygate
This used to be a fun place for people of all ages - nice location, quiet but with a good crowd. Was also host to the annual beer festival which was great fun!
The refurb has stripped the place of all character, the new staff are very rude (on one occasion the bartender misheard my friends order, got him the wrong drink and refused to change it.)
We were actually intimidated into leaving - don't think they like young people going there anymore. Absolute letdown, hope it gets shut down soon it could be so much better with new management.

The Prince of Wales, Esher
The place has now been completely refurbished and looks very welcoming inside, as well as much bigger!! Still a great wine selection. Food is pricey but very good quality. Brilliant place to go in the summer, and very friendly staff! The assistant manager is a particularly welcoming guy!
