The Crooked Billet, Wimbledon Common

.......errr, because it is the Crooked Billet.

Camden Town Brewery Bar, Kentish Town

Nice set up and a good range of beers, but a fiver for a can of India Helles lager (half pint)? It must be the transport costs......

The Crowe Bar, Tottenham

So Queenie, having dissed three other local pubs, can you tell us if it is it a good place to work as well?

The Monks Retreat, Reading

And when Nicole brought me my food, she reminded me that Chelsea had won the league and Arsenal didn't and I was so sad I smashed up my laptop so I wouldn't bore anybody ever again

The Albion, Epsom

Over nine pounds for a large G&T, small coke (from a warm bottle) and a bag of ready salted crips.

The Ship, Croydon

Looks like The Ship's crew are working overtime.......

19 Aug 2014 13:14

The Falcon, Clapham Junction

It's closing for three weeks or so for a refurb, which might explain why they were out of beer. Hope they don't change things too much.......

The Railway Hotel, Cheam

I can see where the last two posters are coming from, but having popped in there on the way home a couple of times on the way home recently (i.e. early evening) I found it a really friendly place. The beer - Directors and Montys jailbreak, was pretty good

The Cardinal, Victoria

I do like Sam Smith's Oatmeal Stout, but five and a half quid a bottle here seems
a bit steep

The White Horse, Parsons Green

A big thankyou to the manager who tracked down another cask of Otley Odessa on Friday afternoon when it appeared that they'd run out. He even wandered over with a free sample for a chat. Top man, top pub

The Cardinal, Victoria

Is this just a ploy by Sam Smith's? They spend months (and lots of money) renovating their pub and people move to other pubs. Nothing like a bit of controversy to regenerate interest and get people, old and new, coming to their pub. All free publicity as well.

The Blackfriars, Glasgow

Jagsfan, you're a 400 lb monkey (with an IQ of 6.8)

The Hope, Carshalton

Slerpy and Vic me old muckers, a lot of people talk b*ll*cks on this website but it's the first time to my knowledge that it's been done literally. I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's.

The Hope, Carshalton

I've never seen a polar bear in the Hope, but that's probably down to global warming and the lack of icebergs in the Carshalton Ponds. As for dark bears, again no sightings. Maybe they had all gone for a s**t in the woods. Apparently that's what they do......

The Running Horses, Mickleham

"I thought this forum was meant to be about reviewing pubs and beer not conduction a running feud in public". Recognize the quote, Kevmac?

The Hope, Carshalton

I asked the barman (age undetermined) for a pint of Blake's Heaven and that came in a pint glass too, Carshalton. What a coincidence! Walking past the Racehorse afterwards I had a perfect view of the car park. I didn't see anybody ignorant, rude or dreadlocked harnanguing anybody though. As it's a beer website I ought to mention that the beer was nigh on perfect, as their beers invariably are.

The Thames Court, Shepperton

yet another plug for the spring grove morris men. Turn the record over uncreative old boy

Ye Old Mitre, Holborn

Whatever you're drinking you'll need gallons of the stuff. Ian Dowie

The Woodman, Carshalton

'Myself and my husband recently visited the Woodman for the first time...'. Absolutely classic.

The Munns Vaults, Glasgow

pooh-hole my a*se!

21 Jan 2010 15:01

The Old Fountain, Old Street

I quite like Rubish Beer though - a tasty IPA brewed in the foothills of the Appalachians by the Rubish sect.

9 Dec 2009 16:42

The Bon Accord, Glasgow

I saw a bloke who looked like Eric Morecambe drinking a Skullsplitter - didn't look like it was doing him much good

30 Nov 2009 15:39

The Trinity Arms, Brixton

You sat in the office for 8 years. Probably worked for 2 of those. The best thing about the Trinity these days is the cat

4 Nov 2009 12:57

The Windmill, Brixton

Anyone else amazed by the size of those two German blokes in there on Friday night? Must have been seven feet tall, thought I was standing in a friggin' hole. Top blokes mind you, and a great venue

19 Oct 2009 13:01

The Three Judges, Partick Cross
