The Sun Hotel, Coniston

Visited this pub over the Xmas holidays. Great atmosphere, friendly staff. Excellent range of local real ales. Dogs and children welcome!

The Black Bull Hotel, Coniston

Was looking forward to visiting this pub, as have admired the beers. But have to agree with previous comments. Pub doesn't seem supported by locals. It lacks atmosphere. The service is nothing special. The beers are in excellent condition and the full range of Coniston beers is a fine selection. The food was really poor. Had a lamb hotpot that was burnt and swimming in oil. Swiftly moved on to the Sun Hotel, much friendlier.

The Queen Inn, Great Corby

First visit to this pub. Good welcome. Had 2 real ales, Hawkshead Lakeland Gold and the local Corby Ale. Both went down a treat. Had the sunday lunch, not the cheapest in the area, but good quality and service. Definitely worth a visit.

Excellent selection of Loch Fyne ales. 3 hand pulled beers on, all well kept and worth sampling. Food average pub fare. Friendly welcome. Definitely recommend calling in if in the area.
