The Volunteer, Baker Street

Not sure what to say about this place. Good selection and quality of beers/spirts, good location and if you're in the right company it can be OK. BUT - very poncy, poor staff and if i'm honest you should go somewhere else if you want a pub to create an atmosphere for you. No music, no real regulars and worst of all a very sterile feeling to the whole thing.

If you're with people you know, who don't really mind, great, if not then jump in a cab for somewhere out of the area. Aussie/Irish bars are normally great.

Good for the area

The Corrib Rest, Queens Park

Really is a nice place. If you come here on a Sunday when the Gaelic games is on then you'll get a great atmosphere , simple as that. As well as that they have great live music at the weekend which you''ll enjoy, and love after a few drinks. Great, a reputation for great beer, a good mix of Irish/English regulars, a pool table and great food.

What more could you want?
my fav local personally

The Queen Adelaide, Shepherds Bush

Nothing really wrong with it, you can easily spend few hours here and have a good cheap night. But sometimes the beer it really really off, i.e. watered down, and if you go here very often you will see/be part of a 20 man brawl. Thats just the kind of pub it is, violent and working class, but at the same time very welcoming.

Belushi's, Shepherds Bush

I'm not Aussie or Kiwi and i really enjoy this bar. Great Music, great atmosphere, nice staff and the beer tastes good. If you're in the area and in a group or 2-5 then its the better than pretty much anything in the area. You really wont regret it, as long as you're up for a few unusual conversations.
