What a great place! Lovely atmosphere, good beer and imaginative food.

The rib-eye ciabbata washed down with a pint of Directors is an experience I will never forget.

The Alvanley Arms Inn, Cotebrook

I've only recently discovered this gem of a pub. Very original and full of character, it serves good real-ale, and excellent food, in a cosy, interesting and very unspoilt building.

The White Barn, Cuddington

Hungry Horse pubs are scattered all over the country. The food is good stuff served in large portions, presumably centrally prepared in a factory somewhere. It's designed to be easily prepared, but this place manges to make a mess of it.

Beer's OK, food is pigswill.

The Helter Skelter, Frodsham

Great beer, great atmosphere, friendly staff and superb clientelle.

I just wish I lived within walking distance!

The George and Dragon, Great Budworth

Very friendly atmosphere. Good beer and quite exceptionally good food - don't be put off by the simple menu, it's the quality that makes the difference.

A true gem, always a favourite for Christmas Eve.
