St. Buryan Inn, Penzance

No it wasn't. The film's pub is located about 100 yards down the road - nearer the church (On a corner with a green door).

The Portcullis Inn, Bristol

Land people Ned and Natz do a brilliant job running this pub. I've seen the Portcullis open and close three or four times over the past decade or so. So, opening and running a successful (and pricey) real drink pub in the midst of the most serious recession since the 30s is highly commendable.
This tiny pub might just turn over one of the highest guest lists in Bristol. Also sells very rare and unusual lagers on tap and have bravely eschewed Guinness in favour of more cellar space for a worthier brew. It's a shame I live no where near it.

The Robin Hood's Retreat, Bishopston

Fairly dull beer selection last night. Plumped for a well kept pint of Summer Lightening. A shame that the garden has to shut at ten, as it's one of this pub's key selling points. Not many ale pubs with decent gardens in the area. The interior is heavily engineered for vertical drinking, which I am not really find of.
Food good, but very pricey. Beer prices reasonable.

The Prince of Wales, Bishopston

If we're talking about the POW in Bishopston (on the Gloucester road next door to Maplins):

Ever since its renaissance a few years ago, this place has gone down hill relying heavily on its excellent location and reasonable size. The real ale I drank last night - the excellent Butt's Barbus Barbus was warm and on the brink.
Stench from the toilets permeating the whole pub. This place is now very pricey indeed. Conveys very little value for money and there are considerably better pubs in the area, not least the Cat and Wheel. Additionally, this pub not so long ago scored zero stars out of five for the hygiene in their kitchen on a spot check. Says it all really.

The Bell Inn, Bristol

The beer at the green man might be expensive, but it's good and you'll never get a dodgy pint. I'd rather pay 10% more for each pint knowing there's a quality landlord behind the place rather than pay less and get served duff beer.

Anyway, if the beer costs too much for you, the food surely won't. The fact that this pub isn't packed every evening is frankly remarkable considering the quality and value. Food is served Wed-Sun and there's usually three things on the menu. I've eaten squirrel pie, a provencale style fish stew, roast venison, rabbit braise and fish and chips (haddock) and all have been simply off the scale in terms of quality. The chef is gifted. Mains are 7.95. I generally phone the pub to find out what's cooking. I am just a customer and have no connection with the pub other than as a punter. Beer and Food 10/10

The Hillgrove Porter Stores, Bristol

Brilliant ale house. Been my local for years. Always try to keep eight ales on including at least one dark one. I haven't often noticed beers being in below 'good' condition. If your beer wasn't up to scratch I'm sure there would be no difficulty obtaining a replacement. This pub was deservedly CAMRA pub of the year Bristol and district 2007.

The Cat and Wheel, Bristol

Nice pub which appears to be keeping their beers better of the last year or two. I sincerely believe it to sell one of the best pints of Bass around. It's also good because you can buy a pint, and take it to Indian Fast Food next door: Just remember to tell the bar person you're doing this! They have an agreement with the curry house.

The Nobody Inn, Doddiscombsleigh

A few years ago could well have been one of the best pubs in the country. Went recently, and they aren't serving any ales from gravity any more. Just the few on hand pump. Pint of Exe Valley Spring Beer was just not bad enough to take back. Bar food not as good as it used to be either.
Recommend this pub.

The Rising Sun, Lynmouth

Been here 5 or six times over the past few years, and each time I visit it's become more upmarket. Gents incredible.
Well kept Cotleigh Barn Owl, but bar manager very pushy for us to order food - probably because we were taking up valuable dining space. Will visit again.
