The Woodman, Lee

Recently gigged at this pub, it being the local of the new fiddle player and whilst it is somewhat Rough and Ready in appearance, it has a warm charm which extends to the clientele. We were made to feel extremely welcome. The beer (when we actually had to pay for it) was good and very reasonably priced. The landlord and landlady are diamonds, who are clearly trying to maintain Live Music in the area. Would appear to be very child friendly too, which in this day and age is no mean thing!! Give it a go!

The Spinning Wheel, Northfields

The Life O'Riley recently played this venue, and found it to be deceptively large, well laid out, with a friendly and efficient set of bar staff. The bouncer on the door was courteous and polite. We didnt manage to venture downstairs however what we did see of the pub was very nice and we would recommend it, with prices being about average. Allegedly busier on a weekend than it was on the Thursday when we went, but we wouldnt know about that! One last thing, the punters who were in there - Were a very friendly bunch! Would recommend it!

Chavs hate Irish/Celtic Rock!! - We are the best live Irish Band in the South of England and having followed your toings and froings - would like to come up and give you a "Chavs! - What Chavs?!" night. Have someone contact me if you are up for it.

The Wishing Well, Hornsey

The Life O'Riley played this venue recently, and despite our disrupting the Disco (Which seems to be the Norm) we were very well recieved by the majority of the friendly customers. A huge place, with a dedicated room for Pool, a dedicated events room, in which there is actually a wishing well, with Koi Carp and reasonably priced drinks.

Well worth a visit.

The Archway Tavern, Archway

The Life O'Riley came along to do a gig here, in an attempt to try and get some life back into the venue. It was a shame that the event was so poorly attended as it does appear that genuine efforts are being made to turn the venue around. The gigging room has been redecorated and features a nice open fire, the bar side is nice and well furnished and the bar staff were enthusiastic and polite. Maybe it is need of some local support and a second chance??

The Bent Brief, Southampton

Went along to see Kellys Tattoo (Irishy/Folky/Rock) and found this place to be very enjoyable. A FULL on music venue not pampering, nor pretending to be anything else, It would appear to offer music most every day of the year. Its not however a place where you need to go suited and booted...I would suggest a dress down policy. But if you want music, and all types of live music at that, you wont go wrong!!

Spotted Cow, Cowplain

Cracking Venue, Lovely Lovely enthusiastic bunch of people. The venue is nicely decorated, courteous bar staff, good inexpensive food and great live music.

A BIG garden out the back for the Summer.

Cannot recommend it enough!!

The Horse and Jockey, Hipley

THe Life O'Riley played here last Thursday and its a great pub which caters to all. A small Tap Room, which seems to be the domain of a determined bunch of locals and a large Restaurant-come Lounge side. Average priced beer, with a Large Play area out the back for the kiddies.

Found all at the pub to be very friendly and welcoming and we had a good, if somewhat quiet night.

Seven Stars, Brighton

Well, The Life O'Riley survived the experience and from what I saw, I am not sure what all the fuss is about..I didnt have to tackle the doormen, as I arrived 3 hours before they did, but the atmosphere in the venue was fun, boisterous and just the way we would have liked it. Had a great time

Old Vic, Southsea

The Life O'Riley played this venue and from an entirely straight perspective, I personally would go back there for a beer. The place is friendly in the best possible way, the landlady is a laugh and half and all in all we had a cracking night out!!

Seven Stars, Brighton

The Life O'Riley play this venue on 31st October and as a band we are looking forward to it. It would be nice to be able to help to get some people through the door, and anyone willing to give it a second chance (music wise at any rate) are not going to be disappointed. Check out the website and come for a Great night out.

I will reserve judgement on all of the other remarks thus far entered until 1st November....if i survive it.

The Nell Gwynne, Southsea

The Life O'Riley recently played this venue and found it to be a good, fun venue, with friendly bar staff, energetic but not overly boisterous clientele and it has to be said, it was bloody good fun!! What i remember of the night, I think that the beer is cheap(ish)

Heroes, Waterlooville

...too many chiefs and not enough indians....LOL

Heroes, Waterlooville

Used to be good, however there are now too many landlords and landladies running the place - and too many cooks and not enough indians does not make for a fun night out.

Scruffy Murphys, Reading

The Life O'Riley recently played at this venue and personally, I found it extremely friendly, if a littile boisterous, which fits well with our style of playing. The facilities are good, the beer is good, the price is right and the Landlord is making every effort to get decent entertainment in there. What more can you ask for?
