The Litten Tree, Camberley

Walked past this place at lunchtime today. There seems to be a refit going on.

Will it be re-opening as a pub, I wonder?

Careful, Urquell. Any more comments in favour of this pub and you're likely to be reckoned to be a co-owner along with me! ;-)

Glad to see someone with taste standing up for a decent pub.

Carpenters Arms, Camberley

Currently closed for refurbishment. Re-opening 14th March 2008.

The Goose, Camberley

Visited recently and yes, it does wiff a bit, but the sofas are nice and comfy and the beer is a decent price

The Plough Inn, Horsell

Now a Wi-Fi hotspot as well as fantastic food and great company!

The Sandhurst Tup, Camberley

As I type this there is a JCB pulling this pub down. Shame in some ways, as it was convenient for my lunchtime refreshment and not a bad looking building, but I have a feeling that many will not miss it.

Snappy, what exactly do you mean by "characterless"? And considering the range of home-made pies and other fine dishes I don't think you could call it anything less than outstanding, but then we are all entitled to our own views. And they ARE home-made, but with demand so high combined with the variety of the menu of course they're going to be made beforehand and then microwaved. Otherwise you'd have to wait all day for your meal. May I suggest you go to a McDonalds in future?

(OK, yes, I am a bit biased as it is my local.)

The Sandhurst Tup, Camberley

Currently looking very, very closed. They've even taken the pool tables out. I have a feeling that the last post by TA010929 seems to have been the final straw...

And even under its later management I would have to agree with him/her. It was alright as a pub during the day but how they managed to make it go so far downhill in such a short time will never cease to amaze me.

The Greyhound, Wilton

Looks small from the outside, but it is huge inside! Reasonably priced beers (well, I am from Surrey!) Good food, if a little on the expensive side. If I had had the time and apetite to make a decent review I would, but, unfortunately I was a bit pushed. Small, but functional beer garden, large screen TV and pool tables spotted in annex/next building. I wish I'd had time to explore this little gem, maybe next time I'm in the area, eh?

The Greyhound, Wilton

Visited this interesting boozer today as a reciprocal kind of thing from my colleagues, they had enjoyed Camberley, so I was going to enjoy Wilton! From the outside it looks a bit pokey, but step through that door and the place just opens up. Pool tables and large screen TV in a large back room/annex, small but usable beer garden. Drinks were decently priced, however I didn't have enough time to sample what seemed to be some noteworthy food. Definitely worth a return visit when I have a bit more time to appreciate this pub.

Carpenters Arms, Camberley

I work in Camberley and was visited by my colleagues from Wilton. They asked if there was a decent place to eat around here, so I took them to The Carpenters. They left mightily impressed by the standard of service, food and value for money of this wonderful establishment (not an easy thing to manage when serving management consultants!). My heartfelt thanks go to the management and staff. I have now changed my allegeance from the Tup to the Carps!

Now accredited with the Cask Marque for the excellent range and quality of its real ales. Good job, and well done to H and Jillie. Keep up the excellent work that your regulars enjoy.

Crooked Billet, Hook

Very nice little pub, dining area now extended in to what used to be the gents! Shame about the prices - 3 for a pint of cider. Excellent food, though, and the staff are friendly.

Bridge Barn, Woking

Lovely place. Good food and beer. Always brings a smile and fond memories for me and my family, as it was owned by a family friend before it became a pub/restaurant. I wonder if they've ever found one of Brian's old socks!!!

The Plough, Long Wittenham

Haven't been here for years, but it still sticks in my mind as one of the best Thames-side pubs that I've been to. Very welcoming to holiday cruisers. Good food, good atmosphere. I must go back again and see if it's still lovely.

Carpenters Arms, Camberley

Spent a lunchtime here this week as my usual pub was shut, and all I can really say is reasonablly priced drinks, tables and stools a bit high for reading the papers on though! Not too bad actually, better than I thought it would be.

The Goose, Camberley

Nice sofa's last time I visited. haven't been for a while though, 'cos I no longer catch the bus! Cider's nicely priced and the staff seem efficient.

RSVP, Camberley

Now called the RSVP. Why, oh why do breweries/chains insist on changeing the name of any pub they take over? (See also The Sandhurst Tup). anyway been to this one a couple of times. Seemed a bit sterile, mind you I'm more of a country pub person.

The Sandhurst Tup, Camberley

Formerly The Staff Hotel, located opposite the Staff College gate of the RMAS site in CAMBERLEY - NOT SANDHURST! Not bad for a lunchtime drinky or two, and early evenings are fairly pleasant. I wouldn't know about later in the night 'cos I normally scuttle back to the safety of Horsell. Good for watching sport, "FLAUNT" funky house music every Friday night 8-12.

The Litten Tree, Camberley

No, this is still the Litten Tree, The Staff on Park Street is now called The Sandhurst Tup, of all things! For starters it's not in Sandhurst! Only been to the Litten once, it's not bad for a town centre pub.

The Plough Inn, Horsell

Easily the best pub in Woking. Very friendly atmosphere, good beer, good food, and quiz night every Wednesday. I've been drinking here since I was old enough to and can recommend it to anyone.
