Rubicon Bar, Surbiton

Givemeale - it's just a little hard to introduce myself, nay, talk to anyone in there at all when all their heads are so far up their arses.

The Black Lion, Surbiton

I went once and I swear everyone drinking in there looked like they had served jail time on more than one occasion. Old man pub - shit and oddly expensive.

The Fighting Cocks, Kingston Upon Thames

Love the alterna-crowd, love the jukebox but I went there for the first time last night and was kind of shocked at the prices of the drinks!

The Coronation Hall, Surbiton

Suprisingly, the doormen are some of the sweetest out there. They're not as aggressive as most and don't go all Nazi-ish when it comes to ID and open the door for you as well as saying 'hello' and 'goodnight'.
The place is HUGE and lavishly decorated (does anyone know what the building used to be?) I like that it has a mezzanine level too. BUT, being a Wetherspoons, of course it's full of chavs and you can't get to the fruit machines or ITbox for fear of your life as this is where all the pikeys congregate to blow their dole money.

Rubicon Bar, Surbiton

I can't stand this pub...sorry..BAR. It's tiny, pretentious, expensive, drinks are in TINY measures with a tonne of ice, you practically have to leave the building to go to the toilets and it's full of self-involved art/fashion students. Maybe it's just because I'm honest East End gal who works for a living instead of a spoiled rich Surbiton brat who thinks 'fashion history' at Kingston Uni is a real degree but if I get eyeballed at the Rubicon one more time by some skinny bint in footless tights I'm going to bottle someone. The ONLY good thing about it is Jono McCleery's regular spots there - he's reason enough to go back...which is why I do.

The Druid's Head, Kingston Upon Thames

I love the Druid's, mostly because of the atmospheric low lighting and all it's cozy nooks and crannys. It's right next door to where I work and me and my colleagues all love to go in there for a few pints after work. The manager is a lovely LOVELY man but the blokes on the door are just too stupid for words. Great deals on wines in there (buy two glasses and get the rest of the bottle for free - YAY!)and the food looks great although I haven't actually sampled any yet!
Only real criticism is that it's very poorly ventilated so on a busy Friday night you WILL come out of there sweaty and smelling like an ashtray and athsmatics (like me) are in for a hard time...but the smoking ban comes in soon so that's not really an issue anymore.

The Oyster Rooms, Fulham

Always go into this pub with my friends. It's true that the other punters are either all pensioners or pikeys and their ID-ing is getting out of control (plus, I got told to take off a hat once I was in there...it was a beenie hat and I don't look like a chav/trouble-maker) BUT the food is cheap and yummy, as is the booze. LOVELY selection of foreign beers and ciders. The bar staff are great too - Robert is a LEGEND!!
Also, to the dickwad below...who the hell goes into a Wetherspoons pub and orders a starter and a main course?! Get a life and go find yourself a restraunt.
