Had a refurb a couple of years ago, food orientated, but still a good locals drinking hole.

The Duke of Devonshire, Eastbourne
M & B managed house, Keen, cheery & helpful staff with well priced food & drink.
Recommended, but NOT for Saturday night as it is VERY loud, with odd non-radio 2 type music (Unless that's your thing).

The Countryman Inn, East Knighton
Recent refurb. has changed it greatly.
Better now than has been for some years.

Spent the last Saturday of 6 Nations in here. Friendly staff & locals, chicken from takeaway down road delivered, well priced beer with plenty of special offers.
Busy sports type pub.
Best one we found in the town.

The Sailors Return, East Chaldon
Has been under new management since the end of June, and is better now than it was in the late 80s/early 90s.
Copper, Otter & Doombar with Ringwood coming soon.
Simple pub food done well & all reasonably priced.
