The Globe Hotel, Glossop

Tried here again, no change really, didn't try the food but the beer, as usual, was disgusting crap. Landlady as obnoxious as ever and the Landlord on another planet. What a joke. Avoid!

The Oakwood, Glossop

One of the best pubs in Glossop, the only downside for me is it's Robinsons, which is always on top form but not to my liking, nevertheless the beer is well kept and top quality.
Menu has changed recently, now offer a fantastic range of beef burgers plus other lighter dishes.

The Star Inn, Glossop

Still by a long way the best real ale pub in Glossop, with ever changing guest beers, ciders, sometimes from local producers. Usually have a couple of Beer Festivals each year with real traditional Indian Food available (i.e. not the sort you get in the local restaurants). Have been known to hold the occasional Pie Competition!!

MrWetWet, and your point is what exactly? The veggie food here may be quite good, what really pisses me off is as soon as I mentioned meat I'm treated like the Antichrist. This never happens to vegetarians who visit non veggie restaurants, they are usually well accommodated for and looked after. The attitude of the Landlady is a disgrace.

Went here at the weekend. Ended up up having an argument because I tried to point out that "sausages" were usually made of pork and "Hot Pot" is a traditional Lancashire dish made from neck of lamb and potatoes. i.e. not the veggie rubbish they do in this pub. Not surprisingly we quickly left, leaving our beer that was virtually undrinkable and tasted like it had disinfectant in it.
In summary, the Landlady is a stupid, arrogant nasty piece of work (a bitch) and the Landlord doesn't seem to know what day of the week it is. Steer well clear!
