I wrote about this pub again but some clown reported me for telling the truth. Please people visit this pub so you know how bad it is, but be prepared if you write a second review it will get reported as they don't like the truth. I may help this pub brew it's own beer and buy some homebrew called Geordie from Wilkinson.

Excellent pub, nothing wrong with the beers I had, in fact I thought they were very good value. Good range of customers and all seemed happy. Cheery staff and more interesting food than most. A bit frayed at the edges but I prefer that to a pubco makeover.

This guy should bottle this crap beer and use it as toilet cleaner. Thought I'd give this place a chance but!!! It's as most people say,CRAP!!! Gave my pint back and told them to get the experts in.

Really grubby pub, not surprised to see that there's no Food Hygiene Certificate on display! Can't comment on the food as I didn't risk trying it. The only draught beer available is from there own home brew and it is abysmal. Comet appears to be a regular brew and it must be one of the worst examples of a light beer I have ever tasted, very thin, tasteless apart from a weird antiseptic background taste, I couldn't manage to finish even a half pint! All in all a pub worth avoiding. The place seems to be frequented by under 18's, hippies and people with no taste, like a reviewer who seemed to think they sold beer from lots of different breweries, what a clown. As for the price, you can get a pint in Wetherspoons for the same, but there's a big difference, the beer in Wetherspoons is top quality.

Visited last month and had a good Stout, curry and pleasant banter with lovely Glossop folk. A wonderful pub, irrespective of Beer Guide listing or lical politics. The beer shop nearby is great too.
