The Abinger Hatch, Abinger Common

The Hatch is one of my favorite pubs and I would recommend it every day. We only got there every couple of months as we live too far away for it to be our local. The staff are lovely and attentive without being intrusive. The beer is well kept and the food is excellent. Always worth a visit

The Seven Stars, Leigh

We had a lovely night here on the day that England was knocked out the World Cup. We were made to feel so welcome by the bar staff and the regulars. The beer and cider was served perfectly and a good price at that. Food menu seemed to be ok but a bit pricey. Nice country old pub which we will visit again

The Abinger Hatch, Abinger Common

Another great visit to the Hatch. Good beer, great food and lovely, hardworking, efficient staff. A good menu is supplemented by great daily specials. This is a very busy pub with a good customer retention so they must be doing a good job. The review by Beersupper is not a good reflection of this pub. When you visit this pub mention that you saw good reviews on Beerintheevening and don't forget to give them the feedback they deserve

The Sussex Oak, Warnham

This pub was recommended by a work colleague as somewhere nice to eat on a Sunday. How right they are. From the initial phone call to reserve the table to our departure, the staff were polite & friendly. The choice of ales were good, finished off a couple of pints of Miss Whiplash and several more Adnams. Food was wonderful from the roast Lamb to the homecooked ham, egg and chips. Lovely homely feel about the place, very welcoming and highly recommnended.

The Gipsy Moth, Croydon

Long wait on Sundays to even get in the door. Good food but don't have the roast dinner too late on a Sunday as it's cooked to death. Nice attentive bar staff who try their best. Good for families.

The Dog and Bull, Croydon

Great old fashioned Youngs pub, one of the few left. Warm welcome from the variety of great characters in the bar. Great landlord and bar staff. Best pub in Croydon

Crown, Shirley

Well decorated with sofas and comfy chairs. Average selection of ales. Loads of room in the large bar area and huge garden. Not bad for a chain!

The Sir Julian Huxley, Selsdon

Good range of ales, beers and ciders. Great value food especially the curry night for a fiver including a drink. Smoking restricted to the lower level. Bit lacking in atmosphere but well decorated and furnished. The bar staff are excellent but the waiting staff could do with some customer service training and personality. Toilets are downstairs which is hardwork when you've had a few pints..

Good old fashioned type pub with good beers and food especially Sunday roasts. Large bar area with lovely comfortable leather sofas and chairs. Really enjoy the guitarist on Sunday nights. Recommended.

The Abinger Hatch, Abinger Common

The Hatch is now a brilliant pub so it's sad to see the previous review was nearly a year ago. The London Pride is especially well kept and they have regular guest beers. Weekends are busy but the staff are polite and hard working. The pub is well managed by Chloe. Plently of people use the Hatch for drinking only. The food is superb especially the mixed grill which is the best I have ever had. The Sunday roasts are also brilliant and they have a barbeque in the garden if the weather is good. Highly recommended.

The Kings Head, Holmbury St Mary

Brilliant pub with good, well kept ales. The friendly managers Vinnie & Hannah remembered us after a couple of visits and have always given us a very warm welcome. Food seems a bit pricy but looks delicous. Definately worth a visit!

The Crown, Capel

The Crown is an unfriendly pub with rude bar staff and regulars. People drinking at the bar seem to enjoy making it diffult to get drinks. The pub has two small and gloomy bars. There is a large restaurant which apparently serves the best roast dinner in Surrey which was the reason for our visit but due to horrible atmosphere we decided to give it a miss. Won't bother going there again!!
