The Ship At Cockwood, Cockwood

A dimond in the rough. Excellent food and good beer (especially cornish ale). The staff were friendly but the locals were my personal highlight. Fishermans tales and local colour abound, enjoy.

The Anchor, Cockwood

To much on the menu was the first thing i noticed and a very severe looking woman who turned out to be the landlady. Beer was good with a decent selection. Abbot ale is always good. Food was good too but took me nearly an hour to decide.(i may just be too fussy but over 20 differnt mussel sauces is a bit much) I shall return however.

The Exeter Inn, Dawlish

Loved this pub. It reminds me of the Country pubs i used to go to with my father when i was a boy. Well kept beer (3 of the otter brand) and i wonderfull little seating area near a hearth. Well worth the visit.

The Railway Inn, Dawlish

Not sure what to say about this place. Couldn't work out if i liked it or not but i heard it is in partner ship with the Exeter inn just across the street. Taunton cider cheered me up though.

The Mount Pleasant Inn, Dawlish Warren

Looks like my nans lounge and smells like it too. Food is subpar as is all the rest. might just have been a bad day but i doubt it. Ales do exsist here but just the same as you would find anywhere else in the area only of a lower standard.

The Sun Burnt Arms, Dawlish Warren

Felt like i needed a tetanus shot just from going in there. Never open now anyway. I agree with brummyboy, so much potential just wasting away.

Teignmouth Inn, Dawlish

A bit pokey but good for a start off point if out with your session buddies. No ales to speak of but a friendly little joint all the same.

The Lansdowne, Dawlish

Never once have i left this pub with a sense of regret for going in (maybe in the morning when i look in my wallet) Good selection with decent prices and good atmos. most of the time, even if it can be overbearing at times.

The Boathouse Tavern and Grill, Dawlish Warren

Visted a few times as i live in the area and i must say its poor. Don't get me wrong, i wasn't expecting 5* but the food is no where near good enough for the price (excpt 2-4-1 :-s). The only redeaming factor was the ale (Well kept with a good changeover rate). I find the barmen to be quite engageing and some obviously enjoy what they do eventhough the management team are unhelpfull (1 exception). Dogs are welcome which is good as i enjoy walking along the beach and its nice not to be turfed out due to having a wet dog in tow. My advice have a pint or 2 then go and avoid at all costs in summer.
