I used to live in east Kent but now visit as often as I can from home in France, spending two weeks in summer and two weeks over xmas as my breaks and each time in Stelling Minnis.
I`m fussy about my beer and my food and the Landlord more than accomodates that, being the first guy to show me that there is such a thing as a quaffable pint of Flowers IPA and having served us with copious, qulaity and value for money food also.Anyone who states to the contrary must be an envious fellow tradesman .
The Landlord is a nice bloke, with a nice family, who we get on well with and has time for all his clients, bearing in mind how busy he is ,and the locals are what anyone would wish to find in a well run, friendly boozer.Staff are friendly and tolerant, especially as we become less tolerable as the session wears on.
With a well stocked village store and post office next door this is a quintessential corner of Kent displaying how a well run pub can keep a village alive.

This is a lovely pub tucked away off the main road. Stewart, the landlord, his staff and the locals made us feel very welcome. Theres even a campsite (no showers) next door run by the pub at very reasonable prices. Well worth finding off the beaten track. From all accounts The Rose & Crown is a very popular, community pub welcoming visitors alike. Perched on top of the North Downs, there is plenty of good walking territory from here nearby. The Goachers kept my thirst well quenched and we would definitely revisit.

Not bad. Beer was good food basic but good value. Somewhere to take children......if you must.

Our classic car club have been using the pub for group Sunday lunches for a couple of years now. Always superb food, generous portions and excellent service.
The beer is great the atmosphere very friendly and the pub is in a beautiful rural setting.

Decidely averahe pub which is a shame as it has the potential to be great. Beer OK to poor, food mediocre, servive rather slack.
