I would second the recommendation of this pub. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much of the Hop Pocket and I wasn't even expecting it to be open as it's in a relatively remote location and many other pubs locally had shut for the afternoon. This place was open and became our second favourite pub of the day. 3 ales were on - Shepherd Neame Early Bird, Adnams Bitter & Wells Bombardier. Locally made Kings Wood cider was also on offer. The small bar opens up into a conservatory. It's bright and airy and all of the staff were fairly cheerful. I'd read that they serve Vietnamese fusion food here. Although they don't serve food on a late Sunday afternoon/evening. My only criticism would be that the music was being played a little too loud. But overall a good pub.

The Hop Pocket is a well presented pub tucked away in the village of Bossingham. Nice decor inside coupled with friendly staff and locals made for a very pleasant visit whilst walking locally recently. I was drinking a well kept pint of Seasalter.

This is a traditional family run little pub, with a couple of real ales and good tasty home cooked food. There is a great little climbing frame and a pet European Eagle Owl in the back garden, and they are generally very kid friendly. The kids get their own menu and my kids love the children's nachos to start and then little pizzas and chips. The veggie food is yummy (I recommend the mushroom strogonoff!) and my husband loves the steaks (not veggie)! All the food is cooked to order, is always piping hot and I am yet to hear the "ping" of a microwave!
