user reviews of the Five Bells, Wickham

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Plenty of good things to be said about this pub. Lovely 17th century thatched building with internal timber framing, brewery on site and tasty food (huge portions). Beers on sale today were the own-brewed INN Deep, HopINNMad and INNhouse as well as BBF's Sugar Plum Shake, Kirkstall's Pale Ale, White Horse's Show Pony RPA, Vale's Brill Gold, Three Daggers Black and Wild Weather's King Street IPA. 6 real ciders as well. We tried pints of INN Deep for £3.90 and Tutts Clump Reading Gold (cider) for £4 - both were very good.

Excellent!
I'd love to "test" all 9 beers plus ciders but guess I'd be beyond a taxi home, I'd need an ambulance. Limitted to one pint as I was motorcycling.
Good pub with friendly staff and locals.
We'll be back.

I popped in there today. Wow! Nine real ales, seven real ciders and perries and about thirty Belgian bottled beers with their glasses. The gents loo has the latest edition of Private Eye above the urinals!

A fantastic pub. Does accommodation. Not to be missed!

Visited in August 2013. An excellent pub with not one but two beer gardens. No less than nine handpumps for beer (pretty much all microbreweries) plus three ciders / perries (plus an empty handpump on my visit today). Does food too and staff really helpful. What's not to like?
