Cracking pub, fantastic location. Whilst some parts of Cornwall get overrun, Coverack always feels a romantic 'lost' soul' from an earlier age... Proper Job, Tribute and a Bath ales beer, but I settled for a nice St.Austell best bitter.. Food looked good as well.. Take the time to walk to meers beach... (Porthbeer). Went to Coverack hoping to buy takeaway fish and chips at the nearby Lifeboat House which was unexpectedly closed so ended up getting the same meal from the Paris Hotel with the added bonus of a decent pint while we waited! Trelawny, Proper Job and Tribute were the beers on sale in this St Austell house. The dining room overlooking the sea was very busy, everyone no doubt enchanted by the Edwardian appeal of the place. Will add Coverack to the list of destinations to visit again one day. paul_d102 - 18 Sep 2017 12:14 |
Named after a shipwreck, the Paris still retains the charm of an earlier age, with a pleasant ambience and reasonably priced good value eats. Fortunately has not been gentrified into an aspirational destination........yet. Stopped for a mid aftenoon livener in the beer garden with a pint of Trelawney (£3.25) while enjoying the view. Well impressed and returned for an excellent evening meal the following day. Beer price at the high end but alas, with the nearby Lifeboat House now closed for the season, no competition puts a pint of Proper Job at £3.40. With a warm welcome and excellent service on offer, you will not be disappointed. Ravenousdrythroat - 20 Sep 2014 12:54 |
Just had a week n Coverack.....The Paris has come on leaps and bounds under the new manager! Ian certainly runs a tight ship. Busy alll week this pub is certainly bucking the trend. The St Austell beers were superb..some excellent Rattler...and the food.....FANTASTIC Lookey - 6 Apr 2013 22:08 |
Had a few days down there and popped in a couple of times, but couldn't get very excited about it and wished there was another pub I could try, but its the only one around. However, on my last night there I had an absolutely 1st class fish dish (sorry, can't remember exactly what) but it was a bit of a shock after the previous couple of days!
