Nice location, with terraces overlooking the river.
The Ludlow Gold was in excellent condition and there were 4 other ales available.

Had a good lunch at the Charlie on Boxing Day washed down by a couple of very good pints of Wood's Ebony. Service was excellent throughout our visit.

Pub in a truly stunning location. Situated right on the river, with superb views and within easy walking distance of the town centre, whist visiting the Ludlow Spring Festival yesterday. Good pint of Butty Bach here.

Not as good as it used to be - food has gone downhill since the new owners took over. Local ales, but quite pricey. Ludlow really is short of decent pubs.

I disagree with LowFlyer72... The bar is very old and traditional with knowledgeable staff and a couple of lovely cosy rooms. Great beer choice; Ludlow Best, Ludlow Stairway (excellent), Hobsons best, Wye Valley Butty Bach and a really good cider - Robinsons Flagon Cider. The terraces above the river are stunning, and must be packed in summer. We stayed over in one of the 9 or so rooms all named with a Shakespeare theme... I must also compliment the restaurant (which you can obviously take your beers from the bar into). I had a main course of Ox-cheek in a lovely rich gravy, and it was as good a meal as I've had... Attention to detail excellent throughout - Highly recommended.
