I went in there expecting the usual W'spoons type place and was not surprised even ate the uaual food and could have been anywhere in the country but in a Wspoons, it was gloomy and at 47 was the youngest in there... steviewonder - 26 Apr 2011 14:54 |
Typical High St Wetherspoons branch with a long and narrow bar and a good array of ales. It also has the usual Wetherspoons clientele described in earlier reviews. Typically, they were short-staffed. About 5 people were waiting for the solitary barmaid to serve them. Beers available were Abbot Ale, Ruddles Best, Directors, Rudgate Ruby Mild and two beers from Brentwood - Chockwork Orange and Hope & Glory. Cider was Weston's Marcle Hill. Sky News was showing on the TV with no sound. Decoration included old pictures of Chingford. blue_scrumpy - 28 May 2010 23:02 |
I was in here today for the first time for some months. I thought that there was quite an improvement since my last visit. There was 4 beers from the Brentwood Brewery all selling at 1.69 per pint!! Quite drinkable especially the "Chocolate & Orange one at 6.5%. Service was reasonably quick as regards beer and food. wyndham - 4 Mar 2010 00:20 |
Nearly every time i've visited this pub there has been a 'scrap' and on one occasion a bloke was sick over my mates coat - give it a miss 3DoorsDown - 14 Mar 2009 01:07 |
This is a pub of two hallfs. Come here Friday and Saturday nights it's Chav Central and best avoided. Come here any other time and apart from the semi-professional alcoholics patrolling the entrtance it's not a bad place to spend an hour or two. Constantly changing real ale selection and quality usually good. Cheap grub but at this price don't expect too much. davewat - 10 Jan 2009 13:21 |
