user reviews of the Three Tuns, Cowlinge

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Only recently moved into the area & was really surprised to find a pub serving such good quality food at such a reasonable price. 10 out of 10 for quality & value. Try the Sunday lunch, its a struggle to eat it all & the steaks on a Thursday are top notch, in town you'd easily be paying 15 + for them. Well worth a visit.

Lovely little pub with good hearty cooking. Went to book it for something to eat, but the number is wrong on this site.

It's actually 01440 821 847. I'll inform them this evening.

This pub is a traditional house, sixteenth century oak beamed bar with open fire and real ale in a tankard if this what you like. But the real feature is the home cooking provided by one of the proprietors Susan Smith; Chris Smith provides the ale. Always ask what has been cooked on the day. One day its steak pie another fish pie, etc. It really is very good food at modest prices.
I was there for lunch on Sunday last and it would be hard to beat for a traditional meal followed by home made apple pie for less than 10.

Visited on a Friday evening in Novemember, Warm and Cosy Pub, Very busy, furnished with comfortable old sofas and chairs, choice of Three real ales, the two I tried, Woodfordes Wherry and I can't recall the other, both seemed a bit tired, nothing actually wrong but lacked that extra zing, maybe they where both nearing the end of the barrel, I would certainly give the pub another visit.
