Wetherspoons with a decent enough range of ales, plus several ciders. Ales were Adnams Broadside, Moorhouses Farm House, Greene King Abbot, Banks & Taylor Dragon Slayer, Hook Norton San Diego Pale Ale, Flack Manor Ballast, Ringwood Forty Niner & Ruddles Best. Ciders were Thistly Cross Whisky Cask, Westons Wyld Wood, Marcle Hill & Henry Weston Vintage, Gwynt y Ddraig Black Dragon & Sandford Orchards Devon Scrumpy. Predictably, there was the usual confusion as to whether CAMRA discount vouchers should be applied for cider. I've now added a favourites to the Wetherspoons FAQs section of their website to my mobile phone for the inevitable discussion next time I'm in a Wetherspoons (probably this weekend)! Otherwise, it's a fairly standard 'spoons which narrows to the back, where there is a dining area and an outdoor courtyard at the rear.

Small spoons. Went in as a group of smurfs before the football.was busy, friendly enough place, the service however I felt was a little slow. Ales were fine,no issues here.

This is an Ok Wetherspoons. Good luck to the management in dealing with "interesting customers". When our local Spoons adopted a similar regime, with many drinkers being barred...takings went down and Mr Tim sold our local to Tesco! Be careful what you wish for.

Excellent food, excellent beer!
Having moved back to the area, i have been revisiting a few old haunts, and i'm pleasantly surprised of the changes here. The staff are friendly and helpful, where once they were sullen and rude, and the customers are no longer a bunch of deviants, indeed they appear to be more of a mainstream collection as opposed to the riff raff of old.
The management has changed also, and in conversation with one of the new team i learned that the pub has a 100% mark on the latest Cask Marque, and their new policies have seen the down and outs moved on to other new venues that have sprung up. indeed, seeing the staff admonish customers on bad language is a sign of the seriousness they appear to take on creating a pleasant atmosphere, and it seems to working.
After sampling a few of their dishes, i can find little to fault on the food, and with the absence of the scousers, will be highly likely to bring friends and relatives here to dine; joining the increasing number of regular diners.
Good Job guys, keep it up!
