| The Fountain was second Bridgwater pub and my last of the day in Somerset. It has a nice situation in the centre of the town next to the river. The ale range can probably only be bettered by the Wetherspoons (unless there was somewhere I was missing). But unlike the 'spoons, this was a proper pub. Neither did it have the local characters as in the Bristol & Exeter Inn. The pub is fairly small. But it was busy. I sat next to a group of people using sign language. Ales were Heritage Ales Victorian Porter, Moles Rucking Mole, Black Templar (apparently Landlord's Choice), Black Rat Cider (from a flask in the fridge) & Quantock Ginger Cockney & White Hind. | Called in one Friday during the day recently. Good crowd. 5 ales on all at very competitive price. Mole Catcher was spot on. I will definitely visiting next time I'm in Bridgwater. nvo2 - 16 Dec 2012 15:37 |
