please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

A few of us came here after Football on Saturday so this was the first of the 4 in Old Hemel High St that we visited.

2 real ales on...Doom Bar and Duchars IPA....I had the Doom Bar and it was perfect.

A nice looking pub with a lovely interior, plenty of nooks, cranny's and little seating areas.

I found this pub to be busy but with a nice atmosphere....decent pub.

HAVING BEEN TO THE PUB I FOUND THE LANDLORD AND LANDLADY IF YOU CAN CALL HER THAT AFTER HEARING HER FOWL MOUTH ARGUING THE SWEARING JUST SEEMED TO BE AN EVERY DAY THING TO THEM BOTH .I WENT IN FOR A MEAL AND A CHAT WITH FRIENDS BUT IT WAS LIKE A WORKMANS CAFE.THEY WERE RUDE AND DIDNT SEEM TO WANT TO SERVE PEOPLE . IM SURPRISED THEY HAVE ANY CUSTOMERS OR JOBS FOR THAT MATTER.. THE FOOD WAS AWFULL!!!!! NEVER AGAIN ..

Sorry but this pub makes no sense what so ever !
I have been going to this pub at weekends and have come to the conclusion that the landlady is completely insane, take a couple of weeks ago - There was 5 elderly gents have a smoke out the back when the landlady marched up to them and said "If you don't shut up and keep your voices down i will call the police" , this was at 8:20 on a saturday night in a pub garden smoking area !
I had only had 1 pint of coke so trust me when i say they were not making much noise at all.

Then this saturday the landlady was screaming at some young lad who was leaving the place, her words were "My fackin kids are trying to sleep so keep the fackin noise down you bastard" , seems she is happy to take money off patrons but then seems hell bent on people being silent so he kids can sleep !! , seems she should try going into a new line of work !

This has been one of the nicest pubs in Hemel for as long as I can remember. This, and the fact that it's very old (the core of it was built in the C17) persuaded me to have my wedding party here in 2004 - it has an upstairs room that can be hired out.

Pub is abit small and gets pretty busy at the weekends and can take a while to get served. Food isn't up to much and beer not all that great, worth a vist if your on a pub crawl of the old town.

Good pub where a mixture of builders labourers and upper middle class execs intermingle

decent pub although space by bar is limited and hard to get beer in quick time when busy!!!

Nice surroundings and atmosphere in a well run establishment. Food is your average pub grub but pretty good and lots of it.

Friendly, staff are really warm and welcoming, plenty of good deals on drinks. Plenty of seats and the staff all dress up on a saturday night for 70's night.

Nice old pub - seem to remember a wonky old ceiling upstairs, where there's a large-screen TV. Did once have a food disaster there - they do standard chain-pub type cheapo menu, and I ordered a medium steak. Never again. It was still alive, I think!

Lovely pub with a lot of history -C18th painted mural walls in front room, and 'original' front to building now inside the pub!
Cosmopolitan clientele, friendly, beer good & reasonably priced.
Basic function room available upstairs, and the usual fruit machines.
Can get very smoky when busy.
